Description 

 

The Scrum Master will facilitate and support the scrum process, ensuring that the HSBC Google Cloud platform team adheres to agile principles and practices. This role involves leading the team in daily standups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives, while also managing the scrum board and eliminating blockers to enhance team productivity. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

 

  • Facilitate daily standups and iteration/sprint planning meetings and protect the team from over-committing and manage scope creep. 
  • Participate in sprint reviews and capture feedback for continuous improvement. 
  • Conduct retrospectives to identify areas for improvement and action items for future sprints. 
  • Administer the scrum board, ensuring tools like Jira are up-to-date and functioning. 
  • Consult with team members and internal stakeholders on best practices for working with the scrum team. 
  • Regularly analyse burndown charts and other planning tools to track progress. 
  • Eliminate external blockers and manage internal roadblocks through process improvements. 
  • Support team functionality by addressing any logistical needs. 
Requirements

Key Skills and Qualifications 

  • Previous experience as a Scrum Master or in a similar role. 
  • Familiarity with agile project management tools such as Jira. 
  • Experience working with development teams in a technical environment. 
  • Demonstrated leadership skills without being authoritative, facilitating team self-organization. 
  • Strong communication skills to ensure clarity on project status, goals, and obstacles. 
  • Ideally have a background within Cloud technologies
  • Empathy to support and motivate team members during challenges along with Problem-solving skills to address impediments and conflicts effectively. 
  • Experience in educating team members in agile and scrum principles and proficient in facilitating meetings and scrum ceremonies
