The Opportunity:

This role reports functionally to VP – Global Advisory Lead (GSC Bangalore) and will focus on building and enhancing the advisory proposition across client segments. Key responsibilities include: -

• Deliver best-in-class advisory services to clients through the development of the investment platform and enhancement of portfolio analytics.
• Handle modelling methodology for asset classes and securities into that adheres to product suitability, risk frameworks and governance requirements.
• Unify the advisory client journey across client segments globally by developing features and tools for efficient portfolio construction.
• Support the commercialization of the advisory proposition.
• Build up a robust knowledge base on the different tools that can be utilized to institutionalize the advisory framework and provide guidance to stakeholders accordingly.
• Collaborate in an agile environment as the subject matter expert with Transformation and IT in specialized work streams to develop new product features.
• Provide sales enablement support related to Global Advisory.

What you’ll do:

Responsibilities:

• Interface closely with Blackrock and internal IT to develop or enhance Advisory features HSBC is utilizing.
• Collaborate with various IWS product teams to incorporate the relevant investment content into the Advisory process.
• Provide domain expertise to resolve BAU issues from booking centres related to Global Advisory.
• Manage the quality of advice and the model methodology within the Advisory architecture framework.
• Liaise with other local platform teams to enhance the UI/UX for the advisory client journey.
• Perform critical data quality checks to ensure the accuracy and stability of outputs from key platforms like Aladdin and ART
• Collaborate with global & regional Advisory team on sales enablement topics and solve topics related to portfolio construction and investment content.
• Resolve advisory topics related to portfolio analytics escalated by the front office.

Targets & Measures

• New or enhanced features developed.
• New or enhanced investment content that can be utilized for the Advisory client journey.
• Stakeholder feedback on resolving BAU issues.
• Stability, scalability, and accuracy of the Aladdin platform.
• Nil evidence of breaches towards the bank’s policies & regulations like Data Protection and Privacy, Anti Money Laundering, Information Risk policy and Regulatory requirements, process specific regulations. Abide by Group Compliance policy.
• Clarity and proactive mode of communication and on time completion of deliverables.
• Qualitative feedback on engagement & collaboration.

Major Challenges

• Competing demands to build new features and enhancements of portfolio analytics
• Resolving issues that arise from the usage of portfolio analytics while concurrently supporting the BAU activities of the front office.

What you will need to succeed in the role:

• Degree in finance/business and with other professional accreditations such as CFA (M)
• At least 3 years of experience in banking or Asset Management (M)
• Strong understanding of asset allocation and portfolio construction (M)
• Has previously been actively involved in building advisory propositions and platforms (E)
• Quantitatively inclined with a keen eye for details (E)
• Knowledge with platforms and systems such as Aladdin, Qlik-Sense and Avaloq (D)
• Adept with MS Excel and PowerPoint (E)
• Working knowledge of programming languages like Python and SQL (D)
• Effective with stakeholder management and able to work with teams across locations (M)

What additional skills will be good to have?

• Critical to be able to collaborate as part of the broader global and regional Advisory team.
• Ability to be act as subject matter expert and tap on the extended Advisory ecosystem for additional feedback and inputs
