Global Payments Solutions (GPS) is made up of almost 10,000 people, across more than 60 countries. Joining the GPS team in Sydney as a Senior Client Account Manager in this fixed term contract, you will manage a portfolio of top tier, highly complex GPS clients and complex clients.  You will be accountable for overall client satisfaction with GPS products and services and supporting the broadening and deepening of these relationships to drive commercial outcomes for the GPS business. In doing so, you will ensure clients receive a superior service experience both locally and globally; being a client’s single point of contact for service for more complex queries outside of basic transactional inquiries.

The purpose of this role is to ensure clients receive a superior service experience both locally and globally, being a client’s single point of contact for complex matters which fall above and beyond basic transactional queries.

This role will provide the opportunity to engage with a range of stakeholders locally, regionally and globally, expanding your professional network as you support our clients’ ambitions to grow globally through connectivity with our international network.

Your main responsibilities will include: 

  • Managing the liquidity and cash management needs of a portfolio of Multi-National Corporations and Local Corporates. Maintaining relationships with key influencers in the client’s local or regional Treasury and Finance organisation.
  • Accountability for the retention of annual revenue of your portfolio of clients, including capturing opportunities and supporting growth.
  • Accountability for the identification of opportunities to deliver Client Service excellence locally and regionally; effectively managing any risks and issues.
  • Responsibility for resolving assigned queries.
  • Accountability for monitoring and guiding the completion of all global queries and local basic queries that may be assigned to others.
  • Maintaining a strong understanding of the cash management business including the ability to identify and deal with business or relationship risks.
  • Communicating complex product and/or technical information to clients into simple terms.
  • Ensuring all internal and external risk metrics are met at all times to ensure clients and HSBC are protected from financial crime.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will bring: 

  • Broad experience as an account manager in the banking industry, preferably with in-depth knowledge of transactional banking solutions relating to cash management products and services in the local market.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver outstanding client service management supporting a range of a range of complex needs.
  • Proven ability in identifying and meeting customer needs through matching a broad range of products and services.
  • Ability to understand a customer’s business and the fundamentals of running a business, through strong 
    business acumen and commercial awareness, including understanding of economic, cultural, procedural, and regulatory issues
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication, presentation and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders at all levels, paying strong attention to detail.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced work environment, being able to adapt to change.
  • Excellent time management, planning, analytical and organisation skills with ability to manage multiple time sensitive tasks. 

Preference will be given to candidates who hold Australian PR/Citizenship or New Zealand Citizenship, or who can demonstrate current unrestricted work rights in Australia without limitations.
