• Wholesale Technology provides technology solutions to support HSBC’s four global businesses: Commercial Banking, Global Banking and Markets, Global Private Banking, and Retail Banking and Wealth Management. Wholesale Technology is part of Digital Business Services (previously called HOST). Wholesale Technology Digital faces off to Commercial Banking.
• Wholesale Technology Digital is a major Service Line reporting into Wholesale Technology, but servicing the Commercial Bank. Digital (sometimes called Wholesale Technology IT) is the electronic front door for HSBC’s commercial customers, and the Digital team is responsible for developing, building, and improving on the digital banking platforms that our customers use. Large commercial and global banking customers use HSBCnet and Connect to transact, while small to medium-sized commercial customers use Digital Banking platforms (DBB) and emerging solutions such as Kinetic and Quantum.
• HSBC Connect is a fully automated host-to-host solution allowing customers to seamlessly integrate their own systems into HSBCnet, where they can use a single point of entry to have access to a number of HSBC services globally. It is primarily used for payments and statements integration but also supports other functions such as Supply Chain and Trade. HSBC Connect was originally built in 2001 to serve as a gateway between a small number of domestic customers and HSBC processes, including Nationwide Building Societ.

• We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Senior Consultant Specialist.

What you’ll do:

• Hand-on WebSphere application on medium/large scale critical platforms
• Install, configure, troubleshoot and deploy applications in WebSphere Application Server or an enterprise middleware environment.
• Partner with Engineers, Administrators, Architects, Developers and Project Managers to implement and support applications according to business requirements.
• Strong scripting (Bash and Ansible preferred) and automation skills is required
• Utilize best practices and provide recommendations to improve application and system performance required to meet SLA’s.
• Responsible for provide on-call coverage on a rotating basis.
• Proven experience in a production operations capacity with Disaster Recovery and High Availability solutions
• Proven experience in external cloud such as GCP
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and on multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Good problem-solving, interpersonal and presentation skills
• A proactive personality with self-motivation
• Provides flexible working time and advanced maintenance support for project releases and maintenance fixes.

• University graduate with degree in computer science or related discipline with minimum 5 years relevant experience
• Solid experience on LDAP, IBM WebSphere MQ (Preferable on MQM 9), WAS (preferable on WAS 8/9), Tomcat, WebLogic, JWS, IHS, apache and reverse apache server.
• In-depth knowledge of Message Broker and Tivoli Monitoring
• Experience in MQ architecture design is a must.
• Technical and proven understanding of publish & subscribe messaging
• Good knowledge in Java and JMS programming.
• Experience supporting Web Services Standards and Technologies (XML, SOAP, WSDL, XSD, DDI, REST, etc.)
• Experience and Knowledge on Mircoservices and Container technology such as Nginx, Kubernetes and Docker
• Google Cloud Fundamental Certified is a must 
• Redhat Enterprise minimum 5 yrs (ideally RHEL v7.x or RHEL 6.x) is a must.
• Strong Solaris and Linux administration & shell script knowledge
• Experience to setup and configure application dynamic monitoring tool
• Familiar with IT Security of WebSphere MQ and WebSphere Application Server
• Experience of working in a team that delivers a high availability service
• Fluent at English conversation

 What additional skills will be good to have?

•  Banking IT experience is an advantage
