The Opportunity:

The SRE, takes responsibility for delivery and consultancy of Business Banking UK Technology SRE activities. The job holder contributes in successful delivery of BB UK production support by providing technical / application guidance to project teams and providing guidance to multiple project teams. The responsibilities entail areas such as conducting feasibility studies, requirement analysis, design and development, technology update, knowledge sharing, as well as coding. The role should be aligned with group standards, IT and business strategy, meet business objectives and satisfy all relevant regulatory, architecture standards and operational risk.

What you’ll do:

• Building complex CI/CD pipelines for Google Cloud Platform for API, Databases, Messaging, Storage, Compute.
• Working with deployment and troubleshooting of Helm, Ansible, Groovy, Docker, Google JIB.
• Hand on experience on creating and deploying Kubernetes pod definitions, tags, labels, multi-pod container replication. Managed multiple Kubernetes pod containers scaling, and auto-scaling.
• Building terraform codes to deploy infrastructure as a code.

• Should have at least 2 year of experience in GCP (Google Cloud Platform) or Similar Cloud Technologies.
• Should have strong experience in Microservices/API.
• Must have strong experience in Devops tools like Jenkins, Helm, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, JIRA, SonarQube, NexusIQ, Checkmarx, Cyberflow, DataDog.
• Experienced in Branching, Merging, Tagging and maintaining the version across the environments using SCM tools like GITHub.
• Worked on writing Jenkins build a pipeline with Gradle script or Groovy DSL (Domain Specific Language) and integrating ANT/MAVEN build scripts with Gradle for the sole purpose of continuous build.
• Defining and setting development, test, release, update, and support processes for DevOps operation.
• Strive for continuous improvement and build continuous integration, continuous development, and constant deployment pipeline (CI/CD Pipeline).
• Understanding of cloud identity and access.
• Scripting (shell, python, ruby) skills for monitoring and automation.
• Experience in managing Linux based infrastructure.
• Excellent troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of various tools, open-source technologies.
• Awareness of critical concepts of Agile principles.
• Certification in Google professional Cloud DevOps Engineer is desirable.
• Experience with Agile/SCRUM environment.
• Familiar with Agile Team management tools (JIRA, Confluence).
• Understand and promote Agile values: FROCC (Focus, Respect, Openness, Commitment, Courage).
• Good communication skills.
• Pro-active team player.
• Comfortable working in multi-disciplinary, self-organized teams.
• Professional knowledge of English.

What additional skills will be good to have? 

• Experience on banking / HSBC and understanding of how change drives benefits for HSBC, its customers and other stakeholders will be an advantage.
• Experience on HSBC business banking system knowledge will be an advantage.
