We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Fraud Manager.

Principal Responsibilities

Our Fraud strategic vision is to keep our customers and the Bank safe from fraud risks, focusing on the specific fraud threats faced now and, in the future, whilst maintaining the best possible customer experience. 

This role is part of our Fraud Control Design, Maintenance & Delivery team within International Wealth and Premier Banking (IWPB) Asia Fraud team. The team is responsible for the management of fraud across the business, ensuring that fraud controls are identified, maintained, and optimised to prevent, detect and mitigate fraud for HSBC and its customers.

As a Senior Fraud Manager, you will be responsible for taking lead regarding PB Fraud controls, operating processes, defining the fraud control strategy and then seeing it through to execution.

In this role you will

  • Support the development of strategies and protocols that are monitored and delivered through analysis of fraud patterns and implemented within our fraud detection systems and processes for PB
  • Interpret Market Information and trends, identifying issues and risks and escalating potential issues with strategies to address fraud and risk. Test change initiatives, identifying and developing new or improved delivery mechanisms
  • Be a subject matter expert for PB business led change projects to identify and assess potential fraud risks that may arise from new / changes to products and / or servicing journeys as well as review PB relationship management procedures ensuring effective and robust application of fraud controls end-to-end
  • Provide Fraud Incident consultancy, including case review of MO and controls, identifying any weaknesses and providing recommend remediate actions to markets
  • Optimise and embed robust ways of working between fraud and the business, ensuring effective collaboration, clear ownership and aligned outcomes
  • Drive control implementation, across our fraud detection systems and operational processes, working in partnership with Value Streams, Transformation Delivery and Product, and Fraud Operation teams
  • Work closely with other fraud teams to ensure that controls are appropriately designed and implemented into fraud treatment strategy. Also, maintain close working relationships with the Strategic Fraud Analytics function to implement model developments and optimisation tools that meet business requirements and risk appetite.
  • Shape and communicate a clear strategy and vision across the team and wider organisation
Requirements

To be successful you will need

  • Extensive experience in Fraud, understanding fraud typologies, risks and controls
  • Experience in Private Banking will be highly regarded
  • Experience developing new processes and ways of working within a Fraud Strategy/Analytics/Operations/Policy function preferred.
  • Experience designing and implementing control / best practice frameworks as well as the strategic delivery of controls, processes, and design methods within a large multi-faceted operation
  • Proven Stakeholder management skills with a strong eye for detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Reporting and Governance, including paper writing and presentation
  • Ability to make key strategic decisions, using data driven insights
