We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Manager, Business Conduct & Regulatory Risk. 

Principal Responsibilities

In this role you will

  • Demonstrate ability to drive strong risk and control culture within FLOD
  • Manage regulatory compliance related initiatives and support business on regulatory matters, control ownership and act as SME advisory to business teams on risk and control
  • Conduct high quality and efficient risk reviews and assessment pertaining to the portfolio, ensure control design and operating effectiveness, and facilitate control remediation
  • Support business with compliance to internal and policies and procedures, and external policies issued by regulators relating to Regulatory Compliance (e.g. Code of Banking Practice, Cross Border, Customer with Enhanced Care Needs) and Conduct; identify and understand the impacts of policies and regulatory changes, communicate and monitor of risk appetite in line with business requirements
  • Oversee implementation of FIM policies relating to Regulatory Compliance and Conduct into well written local procedures and own process to ensure compliance
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with internal and external auditors in order to ensure a coordinated and integrated approach to the management of HSBC's regulatory and reporting requirements
  • Advise business and senior leaders on regulatory and risk management issues and actions related to audit / review / regulatory onsite visits by utilising knowledge of the business and the governance, risk and regulatory frameworks
  • Understand significant level of regulations across broad portfolio across a number of regulators, including IA, HKMA, MPFA and SFC
Requirements

To be successful you will need

  • University graduate in relevant discipline or equivalent, with prior risk management experience, ideally from a banking, financial institution
  • Strong know-how of the Personal Banking, Wealth, Investment and Insurance businesses and products, and proven knowledge on related regulatory guidelines, rules and regulations
  • Experience in managing and influencing various key stakeholders across HSBC in matrix structure. Experience in liaising with internal/external business partners and regulatory bodies would be an advantage
  • Strong communications, interpersonal and analytical skills, project management, ability to clearly present and document the current state and give recommendations
  • Team player, independent, high adaptability to changing environment and attention to details
  • Excellent command in both spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese)
  • Proficiency in the use of computer, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
