In this role you will:
• Undertake IRB model validation activities as dictated by the Global Model Risk Policy including the assessment of: data quality and relevance, conceptual soundness of the underlying theory and the suitability of the use for its intended purpose, model estimation methodology, qualitative information and judgements, documentation and regulatory compliance, and implementation of the model.
• Lead and teach junior resources who will be contributing to the validation activities.
• Provide written reports detailing the results of validations, and highlighting issues identified during the validation.
• Validate remediation activities completed by the 1LOD to ensure appropriate resolution of identified issues.
• Ensure models and tools developed, maintained, and used within the Group are compliant with internal and regulatory expectations and fit for the intended purpose.
• Build effective relationships with numerous stakeholders, providing advance and guidance to ensure compliance with regulation and policy relating to models, and to ensure Risk Appetite is adhered to.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
• Prior IRB Modelling experience is an essential to be considered (from development, validation or regulatory side).
• Advanced understanding of regulatory developments and supervisory practices relating to models, experience in dealing with auditors and regulators.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills on a strategic, business and technical level.
• Highly analytical with an ability to demonstrate a strong attention to detail with numerous documents.
• Senior Stakeholder management at senior level, with an ability to challenge and influence.
This role can be based in London, Hybrid.
