Capital Markets & Advisory (CMA) is a division within Corporate and Institutional Banking (CCMA) comprising Capital Financing and Investment Banking Coverage.  This includes Sector Coverage, Structured Equity Finance (SEF), Debt Capital Markets (DCM), Leveraged & Acquisition Finance (LAF), and Corporate Risk Solutions (CRS).

  • Work with the COO team and Capital Markets Heads to facilitate the provision of timely and insightful business performance data that supports strategy execution, based on globally consistent metrics and data sources, and informed by local market dynamics and local geopolitical developments Preparation of monthly risk and business performance escalation for global Banking and regional cross line of business governance forums ensuring consistent messaging

  • Strategic business development and coordination within all CMA teams, and related functions (Finance, Regulatory Compliance, Financial Crime, HR, Wholesale Risk, etc.) for the Americas region

  • Proactively engage with stakeholders across the Banking, Risk, and Global Functions community to ensure strong communication and escalation of risk and business issues

  • Active participant in the CMA Americas strategy, and other key initiatives, assisting the Head of CMA and the COO team driving and tracking the strategic plans and product’s performance

  • Identify opportunities to increase effectiveness and provide constructive challenge to existing practices

  • Support the adoption of globally consistent policies, procedures and practices, including the adoption of common IT systems working with the team 

  • Focus on outcomes that promote a positive client experience, with a particular focus on ease-of-doing-business 

  • Monitor and report relevant developments relating to market dynamics, peers, benchmarks to help guide and further refine strategic execution within CMA, providing ongoing feedback to the global strategy team 

    For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $100,000.00 and $115,000.00

    The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

Requirements

You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

 

  • Knowledge of capital markets and investment banking preferred 

  • Very strong analytical and presentation skills, with excellent grasp of PowerPoint / advanced excel / word and ability to distil large quantities of information into key themes / issues. Follow up on recurring themes from the MI and identify solutions, which are followed through to conclusion

  • Ability to process high volumes of complex information and ability to summarize key themes and issues

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with capacity to work with senior teams and ability to interact at all levels of the organization

  • Be able to work effectively under pressure and with multiple stakeholders and willingness to go the ‘extra-mile’

  • Excellent English language capabilities both written and oral 

  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, filter information and prioritize multiple demands
