We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Asset Servicing – Vice President Operations.

Principal responsibilities

  • Through continuous improvement, ensure that we lead the market in the quality, accuracy and timeliness of all aspects of service delivered to our clients.
  • Responsible for reviewing, monitoring and controlling service deliverables through active management of KRIs and other metrics available. Agreeing with relevant parties’ resolution and action plans to meet targets and identify improvement opportunities, resulting in improved operational productivity and better service delivery
  • Pro-actively highlight exceptions to processes, such as failure to perform work eg. Reconciliations and Breaches; Provide functional and advanced technical expertise for functional area of ownership.
  • Act as a focal point facilitating the escalation of critical business issues facing the Asset Servicing department. Act as an escalation contact for internal parties including local compliance and operational risk, as well as focal point for supporting Spoke locations, (ie UK, Dublin, Luxembourg).
  • Provide assistance for business development opportunities, responding to IT requests, prospects and extension of client mandates; Develop our people through a strong focus on engagement, learning and proactive appraisal of performance.
  • Create and maintain a high quality environment where attention to detail, accurate and timely reporting and constructive resolution of issues are common practice. Reinforce the policies and standards of HSBC as detailed in the Group Standards Manual and the Functional Instruction Manuals.
  • Deliver appropriate change in support of business growth, enhanced profitability, service excellence and efficiency. Work in conjunction with our Global Product Management function and clients to support the implementation of a range of process and systems based change. Providing SME support for project activities which may include review of requirements, functional specifications and providing testing support including test script production.
  • Identify and facilitate the implementation of Process Improvement Opportunities; Systems development - assisting product and service delivery teams in defining requirements for test script update. Providing expertise to assist the GSC with system testing requirements
  • Responsible for transformation stability - new process transformation and quality improvement working with Best practice and Transformation

    Requirements
    • Ideally educated to degree level.
    • Managerial/supervisory experience.
    • FSA Threshold competent.
    • Knowledge of the securities industry.
    • Thorough knowledge of Investment Administration and Middle Office functions.
    • Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.
    • Experience of dealing directly with external clients, brokers, fund managers and custodians.
    • Ability to plan and organise workload to meet deadlines, taking into account relative priorities.
    • Ability to build and maintain good working relationships with colleagues.
    • Strong business sense and awareness of the key issues/risks within the Operations
