In this role you will:
• Be responsible for the corporate governance of HSBC’s Insurance subsidiaries incorporated in Bermuda, and supporting corporate governance for the Bank and its subsidiaries
• Manage a range of relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
• Provide support to Boards, Non-Executive Directors, Board Committees and senior management on all corporate governance matters
• Be responsible for maintaining statutory records and submission of statutory/regulatory filings in accordance with statutory, regulatory and HSBC requirements
• Proactively interpret, understand and act upon changes in legislation and regulation within Bermuda relevant to the responsibilities of the Bank, and the HSBC Insurance subsidiaries as it relates to corporate governance matters
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following criteria:
• Relevant experience in a legal/corporate governance position, including comprehensive knowledge of Bermuda Company Law, and a working knowledge of the Bermuda Insurance Act 1978
• Ability to develop strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders (both internal and external) across seniorities and geographies
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information, work well under pressure, and multitask, meeting deadlines in a demanding and professional environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Capable of working collaboratively in a small team, with the ability to work independently and take initiative where required
