The Associate in the Office of the US Chief of Staff will play a vital role in supporting the strategic, operational, and organizational priorities of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Reporting to the Chief of Staff, this position will involve collaborating with senior executives and contributing to high-impact initiatives, regulatory engagement, and the effective execution of the CEO’s agenda. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, proficiency in Excel and Power Point, willingness to learn and adapt to various tasks as required.

As our Associate, Chief of Staff Office you will:

  • Assist the Chief of Staff in developing and executing the CEO’s agenda, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities
  • Pull and analyze data from various sources, including market data platforms like Dealogic and CapIQ, to support decision-making and strategic insights
  • Prepare materials for meetings, including presentations and reports, ensuring clarity and professionalism in communication
  • Conduct competitor analysis to inform strategic initiatives and identify market opportunities and collaborate with team members to streamline workflows; implement best practices that enhance overall business outcomes
  • Support the development of board materials and communications for executive leadership, regulators, and key external stakeholders
  • Be adaptable and open to taking on various tasks as needed, demonstrating a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the organizational climate and employee engagement, providing feedback and insights to support alignment with the culture and people agenda
  • Handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism, ensuring confidentiality and integrity in all communications

For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $81,000.00 and $121,400.00

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

Requirements

You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel for data analysis and PowerPoint for creating impactful presentations
  • Familiarity with the banking and financial services industry, with a keen interest in understanding regulatory, geopolitical, and market dynamics
  • Ability to learn and utilize market data tools such as Dealogic and CapIQ for competitor analysis and strategic insights
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on clarity and professionalism
  • Strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively within a team and build relationships across various levels of the organization
  • A structured and methodical approach to problem-solving, with a willingness to adapt to changing demands and priorities
  • Previous experience in a support role or internship within a corporate environment is preferred but not required
