We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Associate, Credit and Capital Management Data Risk & Controls.

Principal Responsibilities

In support of our ambition to be the world’s #1 Corporate & Institutional Bank, we are accelerating our plans to improve our Credit and Capital Management (CCM) processes to drive better customer outcomes and enable growth. Credit and Capital Management COO aspires to establish a world class end to end credit management function, uplift customer experience, deliver a modern risk management capability and mechanisms to actively manage and distribute the Bank’s balance sheet.

The Data Risk and Controls team is responsible for overseeing the identification, assessment, and governance of data-related risks within the CCM. This team ensures that effective data controls are in place to safeguard data assets and comply with regulatory requirements and adherence to the Group Data Risk Policy. This role be responsible for supporting the Data Risk and Controls Manager in establishing and maintaining robust data governance frameworks within CCM, ensuring the integrity, security, and effective management of data assets, aligning with HSBC's data strategy and regulatory commitments.

In this role you will

  • Support the CCM data governance committees and work groups to ensure alignment with the CCM overall deliverables

  • Create reports to monitor data governance metrics and Key Control Indicators, reporting on the effectiveness of data governance initiatives to senior leadership

  • Monitor data quality assurance processes

  • Ensure a sustainable monitoring process is implemented to reduce the impact of similar issues reoccurring in the future

  • Review plans, milestones, Red Amber Green status and progress tracking for the respective data initiative 

  • Support all reporting for the data programme(s) and initiatives

Requirements

To be successful you will need

  • Experience in data governance, data management, or a related discipline within the financial services industry

  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, tools, and technologies

  • Experience in Credit and Lending is preferred but not mandatory

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels

  • High level of drive and motivation to ensure successful delivery of complex transformational initiatives

  • Strong analytical background with a high degree of attention to detail

  • Background working in cross-functional teams to drive requirements capture
