Working with institutional investors, banks, insurance companies, governments and multinational corporations, Securities Services offers a range of fund administration, global custody, sub-custody and clearing, and corporate trust and loan agency services.  

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Associate, Global Trustee and Fiduciary Services. 

Principal Responsibilities

  • Take appropriate steps in managing all aspects of a Fund/REIT portfolio, which include but not limited to ensuring all activities are in compliance with regulations, laws and constitutional documents and escalating as appropriate
  • Deliver professional services to clients. Cultivate and develop strong relationship with senior members of the clients, the role involves meeting clients to discuss issues and enquire into the operation of the Funds and REITs
  • Review and negotiate trust documentation with a view to safeguard HSBC interests, legal liability while ensuring operational processes and procedures are captured accurately
  • Review and negotiate transactional documents with a view to ensure compliance with regulations and to fulfil our trustee’s obligations
  • Arrange and keep up-to-date with all client documents and any other Fund/REIT information in accordance with the internal procedure
  • Facilitating open communication with trustee team members and colleagues, both locally and globally, to identify any potential issues/improvements
  • Ability to assess risk, demonstrate ownership and management of issues
  • Ability to lead and manage a team within Trustee and Fiduciary Services in Singapore  (preferred)
  • Manage and guide junior team members where required. Act as the escalation point to resolve issues faced by junior team members
  • Assist and report on financial planning to achieve cost targets set for the team and providing accurate Management Information Statistics in a timely fashion as agreed on a case by case basis
  • Ensure provision of service quality across Trustee and Fiduciary Services disciplines, management of operational processes to meet or exceed service level requirements
  • Ability to lead in project management projects from time to time through review of documentations, or review of internal processes due to regulatory changes or implementation new measures with clients/team due to compliance, audit or internal requirements
  • Accountable for continuous process improvement of existing processes and migration of new functions from the onshore business partner and complete periodic reviews of procedures, utilizing knowledge and understanding of tasks
  • Maintain excellent relationships with various internal stakeholders including the Off Shore teams and communicating with them in a professional, clear and concise manner and meeting all deadlines
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least 6 years of working experience in delivery of excellent customer service and proactively looking for ways to improve
  • Prior experiences in the funds trustee, investment compliance monitoring, real estate investment trust, legal document review, audit or risk management will be useful.
  • Track record of making complex business decision with authority and dominance, even in times of ambiguity, considering the potential long-term risks and implications
  • Detail oriented with strong ability to analyse complex business issues, multi-tasking and problem solving capabilities
  • Strong Excel and presentation skills, ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively, both oral and written, strong analytical skills, high attention to detail
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, with a proven ability to prioritise competing demands and communicate this effectively
  • Effective leadership with requisite interpersonal skills necessary to direct and motivate a large team to achieve results
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain global and regional relationships at all business levels
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback to management and escalate as necessary
  • Detailed knowledge of global market infrastructure
  • Ability to manage risk while being customer centric
