The purpose of the role is to manage a portfolio of clients across multiple sectors and supporting Senior Relationship Managers on key Regional Global Banking Relationships within the Oman Wholesale coverage  team and to provide pro-active support in deepening client relationships and improving income generation through focused business development activities, including managing the portfolio of clients independently.

In this role you will:

·       Contribute to the continued development of the HBME Multinationals business in line with the Global Banking and specifically sector strategy. The client base comprises of some of the world’s leading Multinationals in various sectors such as Chemicals, Healthcare and Consumer and Retail sector to list the main ones.

·       Ensure prompt and appropriate response to customer enquiries and concerns by problem solving and facilitating the process by liaising with product and support areas

·       Work with line manager and the Team Leader in identifying strategies to maintain / enhance overall relationship return, increase revenues while optimizing the utilization of credit facilities, and ensure early identification of potential credit issues

·       Provide general support to the Relationship Managers/Team Leader in servicing client relationships and enhancing income generation.

·       Manage and develop a portfolio of own clients by deepening client relationships and improving income generation through focused business development activities

·       Work with the Credit Analysis Unit (CAU) on the preparation of structured and focused credit memorandums for clients within the sectors, covering annual reviews and new money proposals

·       Understand and ensure compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved.

·       Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators. 

·       Develop a strong sectorial/product expertise and provide high quality competitor and client level analysis to support business development and credit risk assessment 

·       Undertake all required activities as directed by line manager, or as agreed in annual objectives, in support of achieving the business objectives of Global Banking

·       Develop strong bonds with the decision makers of your own client portfolio

·       Live and represent the HSBC Brand and Values both internally and externally

·       Manage Deals and Pipeline transactions within ClientVision to ensure that the transaction data and status are accurately reflected

 

Requirements

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

·       Understanding of risk management and credit mitigants

·       Strong business development, financial analysis and analytical skills

·       Ability to undertake in depth review of industry, competitors, client and products and provide a high quality analysis of Credit risk

·       Ability to develop good working partnerships with credit, client’s management and product teams

·       Ability to provide strong analytical and marketing support to Relationship Managers

·       Strong IT skills (including Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc)

·       Knowledge of the full spectrum of Global Banking & Markets products and services

·       Robust understanding of Financial Crime Risk Management

·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·       Strong team player and demonstrate a high level of attention to details, strong organizational skills and willingness to be a driven self-starter
