We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Assurance Manager - FINANCE CONTROL OFFICE.

Principal responsibilities

  • Perform Assurance reviews on Finance and Non –finance processes in accordance with the bank and SOX policy framework covering the design and operating effectiveness of the control.
  • Monitor and test the design and operating effectiveness of key controls and challenge existing control activities to gain assurance that the control environment is operating in line with risk appetite.
  • Maintains the accuracy of relevant Assurance related databases.
  • Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including monitoring of assurance review findings, internal and external audit issues together with any issues raised by external regulators.
  • Identify remediation actions for control weakness identified during respective reviews, agree these with control owners and ensure issues are recorded in accordance with internal external standards and where possible assist in the remediation steps to be taken.
  • Work closely with the internal controls functions, SOX and NFR team to continue integration of SOX / Operational risk testing as part of overall framework.

  • Finance  and  Accounting qualification ( additional) with relevant work experience covering risk and control in banking / financial services industry (especially the experience of audit and assurance work)
  • Strong control mindset and good understanding of the operations and processes in Finance is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication (both verbal and written), collaboration and interpersonal skills are critical. 
  • Commitment to drive continuous improvement, self-motivated, confident, and capable of working autonomously as well as being a good team player.
  • Able to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.

Candidate with less relevant experience or skills may be offered a lower Global Career Band than stated above.
