We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Director, Asset and Liability Management (ALM).

Principal Responsibilities

  • Lead ALM hedging Strategy through derivatives & hedging methodology
  • Lead tactical capital optimisation & methodology
  • Oversee the quantitative assessment of Strategic Asset Allocation (SAA) and Tactical Hedging Strategy, taking into account asset & liability matching (including asset liability duration gap) and risk & return optimization
  • Manage projects and coordinate teams in the implementation of ALM initiatives, management information (MI), capital optimisation and strategic projects
  • Support and develop ALM optimization under IFRS17 framework
  • Contribute to and evaluate new product development and new investment initiatives from local statutory solvency, IFRS17 CSM, Economic Capital and ALM point of view
  • Support group insurance ALM and local ALM teams in developing & refining ALM model and strengthening ALM and hedging capability at Group and local entities.
  • Perform cashflow projection and stress test to better understand liquidity risk of different investment initiatives on the balance sheet
  • Oversee the model governance required by Group Model Risk policy
Requirements
  • 10+ years experience in life insurance companies or consultancy firms
  • Qualified actuary
  • A clear communicator to engage with senior stakeholders across the business
  • Knowledge of IFRS17 reporting, CROSS II, Singapore or Hong Kong local regulatory solvency requirement
  • Experience in derivatives hedging and investment
  • Good understanding of Asia participating and universal life products
  • Prior ALM experience and familiar with SunGuard Asset Liabilities Stochastic (ALS) model
  • Ability to drive projects through providing appropriate project framework, clarity on content and deliverables and effectively engaging and managing stakeholders.
  • Strong influencing and communication skills and an ability to work with international and virtual teams
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills; including ability to "think outside the box"
  • Fluent in English
