HSBC is the largest bank in Europe and is also one of the largest investment banks in the world. MSS IT provides technology solutions for its Global Banking and Markets business worldwide.
Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR) management is a business-critical function within the bank. The CCR IT team provide the technology to enable the Counterparty Credit Risk exposure calculation across thousands of HSBC clients globally every day.
We are part way through a multi-year plan to build the next generation of Counterparty Credit Risk Engines which involves migration to Cloud platforms and replace vendor software by in-house developed analytic library. The new counterparty credit risk engine comprises micro services leveraging the latest open-source infrastructure, and runs on Google Cloud Platform and on-premise infrastructures.
Technologies used by the team include Java SE, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Apache Beam, Apache Flink, GCP, Redis, REST APIs, Ansible, Jenkins.
HSBC and Traded Risk are heavily investing in an Agile culture with adoption of DevOps processes, CI/CD pipeline and Cloud Technologies. Traded Risk CCR IT is looking to initiate a brand-new development team in Krakow in 2023 as part of a long-term strategy to develop and support its platform in Europe.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a team in its early stages and make a key contribution. Engineering team in Krakow will be responsible for both the development and maintenance of the microservices in Counterparty Credit Risk.
What you’ll do
- Work with business and Transformation to Gather, review and optimize business requirement.
- Production of detailed specifications to allow business requirements to be understood and delivered by the engineering team.
- Bridge and minimize the gap business team, product owner, engineering and a variety of end users for the whole project life cycle, to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant internal control standards and external regulatory requirements.
- Acquire & maintain knowledge in various areas of Counterparty Credit Risk, and actively participate in team mentoring, coaching and knowledge sharing.
What you need to have to succeed in this role
- Solid knowledge on Counterparty Credit Risk methodologies and risk measures like Potential Future Exposure (PFE), Credit Value Adjustment (CVA) and Risk Weighted Asset (RWA).
- Excellent in written and spoken English and can communicate comfortably in full English environment.
- Excellent analytical capabilities and learning ability, can quickly adapt to deal with new disciplines/projects and dig deeper into relevant business and IT knowledge.
- Good understanding of agile processes and techniques.
- Ability to translate functional requirements into technical specification that can be understood by engineers.
- Able to provide innovative solutions to complex business problems.
- Knowledge on financial instruments in various asset classes like FX, Rates, Credit etc.
- Knowledge on Basel III.
- Experience in Agile project delivery and ability to work proactively and under pressure against multiple deadlines.
What we offer
The pay range for this role is 18 000 PLN - 23 000 PLN (monthly, gross).
Variable pay is discretionary, but influenced by Group performance, business/function performance and individual performance.
