The Chief Control Officer (CCO) Function has been set up to partner with COO colleagues across the bank to enable the bank and its customers to achieve their ambitions in a safe, efficient and controlled environment. 

Senior Control Tester support Manager in performing control testing activities in line with HSBC Operational Risk policy and COO Testing methodology across HSBC control estate, but also in relation to the SWIFT Annual Certification process. This includes executing control reviews, thematic process reviews and deep dives. As such, prior experience of performing testing activities is essential.

What you’ll do
    • Responsible for the timely delivery of control testing in line with the quarterly and annual testing plans and being transparent and accurate in the completion of testing deliverables, as will be reported to Senior Management.
    • Apply judgment in relation to the identification and publication of control testing findings through identifying the key risks and issues.
    • Support the completion of targeted control reviews covering risks and working collaboratively with other CCO Function team members.
    • Support Team Members in maintaining ‘trusted advisor’ relationships with internal stakeholders and partnering with 2nd and 3rd Lines of Defence (LOD) including Operational Risk, ISR, Internal Audit etc. on coverage of control testing.
    • Be resilient in the face of, sometimes acute, pressure to redact control testing findings and recommendations by focusing on the facts of testing outcomes.

What you need to have to succeed in this role
    • Solid operational risk management, internal control, or internal audit preferably within IT Function or a banking function knowledge. We don’t measure experience in years, but you must show that you really know what you are doing.
    • Solid process assessment experience. You will support different team as a trusted advisor, so quick and relevant assessment is necessary on the position. 
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.  Establishing effective working relationship within the Regional testing team is one of your main responsibilities. 
    • Proficiency in English. We are a diverse company. Ability to communicate on a business level with everyone is a must.
    • Audit and Risk qualification (good to have).  CRISK, ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualified.
    • IT Risk qualification (good to have). CISM, CISA, CISSP or equivalent (optional).
