Our Digital teams are an integrated global group of over 4500 technologists and commercial thinkers, working across our offices in the UK, India, China, Hong Kong, the US, Canada, Poland and Mexico. Our work includes developing new mobile apps and online experiences; using digital messaging to build the relationship with our customers; building and improving the underlying technology and security platforms; and innovating our propositions to take advantage of innovation, within iWPB.
We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Scrum Master for the Cloud SRE Pod, based out of Poland (Krakow). Your role will be key in facilitating agile processes and ensuring the efficient delivery of infrastructure initiatives and products, aligning with the strategic objectives of iWPB Digital Platforms and delivering value to our retail banking customers. You will work closely with our delivery and engineering teams, as well as our colleagues in ITID, to support the delivery of world-class service across 300+ Digital Banking services globally. What you’ll do
- Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies (e.g., daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives) for the Cloud SRE Pod as well as coach and mentor the engineering team on Agile principles and Scrum practices.
- Help the Product Owner in defining and articulating the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Cloud SRE Pod's infrastructure products and initiatives, ensuring alignment with overall iWPB Digital Platform goals as well as help the team in translating business needs and customer requirements into detailed user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Support the team in prioritizing the product backlog based on business value, technical feasibility, and strategic importance and identify and remove impediments to the team's progress, foster a collaborative and self-organizing team environment.
- Manage initiatives which can provide new products to the business with a competitive edge and manage initiatives which protect and secure new or existing services and products to the business.
- Work closely with engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle to ensure solutions meet product requirements and quality standards as well as ensure operational and system tests are successfully completed, and results are shared with teams.
- Help provide estimates for recharge and resource to the business or application project manager and help ensure infrastructure billing is as per agreed estimates.
- Provide regular updates to relevant stakeholders about the progress of infrastructure-related tasks in relation to agreed timelines and milestones, manage and report risks associated with the infrastructure area as well as ensure infrastructure deliverables are as per the agreed quality, cost, and on schedule.
- Conduct regular team meetings and produce periodic reports, timely escalate issues and mitigation actions, manage and co-ordinate with IT teams to resolve post-production defects and provide regular updates, act as the principal coordinating point for Infrastructure teams, assist in the release of projects to production and provide post-implementation support as well as assist the Application PM from an Infrastructure perspective to ensure smooth handover to Support teams from the application end.
What you need to have to succeed in this role
- Ability to build strong relationships and communicate with a wide spectrum of stakeholders, especially with senior stakeholders in Business & IT.
- Strong familiarity with Jira, Confluence, DevOps tools, Agile methodologies (Scrum Master certification preferred), and open to new Ways of Working.
- Experience of managing multi-disciplined, multi-location teams to timelines with an ability to work in an unstructured and changing environment and adaptable to managing changing priorities with the ability to pivot on strategy and priorities when business needs arise.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence others positively as well as strong team player engaging and encouraging others with a forward-thinking approach.
- Proven technical expertise in an IT role with good knowledge of crisis response and recovery.
- End to end systems architecture knowledge as well as knowledge of DevOps principles for efficient delivery.
- Infrastructure design and architecture, with knowledge on Linux, MQ, Oracle, Mongo, and Cloud technologies.
- Management of Risk (Operational Risk / FIM requirements).
