HSBC Markets and Securities Services (MSS) is an emerging markets-led and financing-focused business that provides tailored financial solutions to major government, corporate and institutional clients worldwide. The role is within MSS IT - a department of HSBC Technology Services (HTS) - providing IT application development and support services to Business and IT teams within HSBC MSS.
In particular, the HTS DCS Team falls under the MSS IT Securities Financing function, providing 24*7 development, enhancement, and support for a number of components.
We currently invite IT developer professionals with great potential and a strong passion to follow a career in the technology industry of HSBC Markets and Securities Services.
What you’ll do
- Develop and maintain software for OTC platform
- Cover your software with tests on all levels of delivery pipeline, preferably in TDD.
- Take end-to-end responsibility for your software
- Attend daily Agile routines with OTC team
- Collaborate with developers to enhance the platform
What you need to have to succeed in this role
- Solid experience in Scala
- Experience in ZIO, Akka, SQL, Git, Scalatest, Jira / Github
- Good understanding of Kubernetes GCP, GKE
- Experience in Linux, Bash
- Basic understanding of Python.
- Enthusiastic willingness to rapidly and independently learn and develop technical and soft skills as needs require.
- The ability to organise your time and your tasks in the face of competing priorities.
- A willingness to provide occasional weekend or after-hours support or cover as needs require.
- Ability to work in an Agile, DevOps / DevSecOps - oriented environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience with development for highly regulated environments
- General experience in GKE (Kubernetes), terraform, MongoDB
- Experience with MongoDB, InfluxDB
- Experience with messaging systems (MQ, Kafka)
