We are currently seeking a high-caliber professional to join our team as Senior Test Lead (Manual + Selenium test automation) to support HSBC public and internal websites portfolio. Successful candidate will become a lead of testing strategy for delivery teams working on HSBC public and internal websites (development & maintenance) including some of the key HSBC business lines.
They will be driving innovation, delivering products in ever-shortening cycles, increasing automation coverage and helping to drive the continuous improvement of our processes, tooling and engineering practices. They will be functionally responsible not only for our central automation team but also for test engineers located across Poland, UK, India and China.
What you’ll do
• Responsible for initiating and ensuring the technical and delivery-facing leadership for all aspects of QA engineering at portfolio level
• Initiating test automation and test engineering practices (manual and automation), including aspects of ‘software development in test’
• Leading the delivery of test engineering, typically using agile and CI/CD methods including influencing how the teams develop user stories and acceptance criteria, typically deploying Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) and Test-Driven Development (TDD)
• Drive end to end Testing strategy working with QA team members, technical teams, stakeholders at various levels of Agile delivery lifecycle
• Play a key role in end-to-end testing of products supported by the delivery team including detailed requirements analysis and preparing test strategies, estimates, test cases, execution, reports etc.
• Work closely with other DevOps engineers in the team to deliver products with expected quality
• Help in implementation and execution of automated test cases with MCIT’s Selenium WebDriver framework
• Perform different types of testing (Functional, UI, Smoke, Regression, Performance, Accessibility) also help in automation and performance testing.
What you need to have to succeed in this role
• At least 10 years of hands-on experience in testing roles including manual and automation testing
• At least 5 years of automation testing experience specially with Selenium WebDriver
• At least 3 years of experience as a test lead or a team lead, leading and guiding more junior test engineers
• Extensive hands-on test experience within Agile projects, with a strong understanding of the Sprint, CI/CD and release testing lifecycles
• Strong automation experience and the ability to specify, to develop and to implement automation frameworks such as Selenium and advice on industry best practice
• Pro-active in managing test dependencies, coordinating test coverage and execution
• Knowledge and experience of working with Open Source tools and Cloud based services including WebDriver, Jenkins, GitHub and REST libraries (RESTAssured, Karate)
• Demonstrable experience of working with cloud based web applications such as Azure cloud platform
