Private Banking and Trust Services 

Hang Seng's Private Banking provides services for people who have successfully built their asset base and now want to place their wealth in the hands of experts who know how to nurture it. 

Our banking services and products are bespoke, ranging from tailored investment advice and capital solutions to holistic health and personal protection and trustee services. Our team offers professional wealth management advice at both a local level and on a global scale. 

Should you join our Private Banking business, you will focus on building close relationship with our high-net-worth customers, providing professional advice and premium service to them and contribute to the profitability of the Bank.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our department as Head of Business Risk Management.


Principal responsibilities:

The job holder is responsible for identifying, assessing, monitoring, and mitigating risks across the Private Banking business.  The job holder works closely with business units, risk stewards, and senior management to ensure effective risk management practices are in place and risks are within the bank's risk appetite.

  • Drive a robust risk and control framework to enable oversight, control and monitoring for Private Banking and Trustee and ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements, Group and bank policies and control
  • Monitor and report on key risk indicators, risk events, and risk exposures, identify areas for improvement and recommendations to enhance the control, while balancing the operational efficiency
  • Oversee the PB sales quality performance, review and drive continuous improvement measures and sustain quality standards
  • Work with the Control Owner in all non-financial risk, regulatory, audit and assurance review related matters.
  • Implement policies and control procedures to ensure the business activities are complied with regulatory and Group requirements.
  • Promote staff knowledge and awareness on risk and conduct culture within the business and provide advisory support and training to frontline.
Requirements
  • University graduate with a minimum of 8 years of private banking experience, with at least 5 years in risk management
  • Strong knowledge of risk management frameworks, sales quality control and regulatory requirements
  • Leadership experience in managing and developing teams
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written communication, oral presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Good interpersonal, influencing & problem solving skills and the ability to drive a diverse group including internal and external partners
  • Project management skill with a track record in managing multiple priorities
  • Committed, self-motivated and action-oriented personality with strong ownership
  • Professional qualifications such as Enhanced Competency Framework (ECF) and/or Certified Banker (CB) under Hong Kong Institute of Bankers (HKIB) would be an advantage.
