We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team.
In this role, you will:
This is a key leadership role in IWPB business (excl. Insurance Manufacturing and Asset Management) in mainland China, with responsibility for leading the strategic priorities in Digital, Data and Change Execution across lines of business and customer continuum. This role is expected to lead the teams to empower business in delivering the strategic objective of being the most recognized customer advocacy and the leading Wealth Manager in mainland China.
Respective heads of Digital Platform, Digital Channel, Digital Partnership and Innovation, Data and Analytics, and Transformation will directly report to this role.
Digital Platform
1. Lead to construct a fit-for-future digital platform with clear roadmaps and great quality that enables long-term business growth. Own ongoing business architecture and process improvements opportunities for various digial platforms and channels.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand customer needs, identify market opportunities, develop competitive digital products, and create compelling digital experiences.
Digital Channel
3. Develop Digital as a Channel (DaaC) and achieve financial and other engagement targets across key activities. Lead the delivery of relevant and personal digital experiences with optimized communications to our customers across multiple channels.
4. Maximize our opportunities for customer engagement through our digital channels. Drive digital adoption and commercialization including but not limited to transaction migration and digital sales.
Digital Parntership and Innovation
5. Take charge of the creation and implementation of digital partnership strategies in collaboration with business stakeholders, to drive channel diversification and productivity improvement.
6. Drive digital innovation by staying abreast of industry trends and leveraging insights for new initiatives. Partner with various lines of business to develop and manage a comprehensive generative AI roadmap, with focus on AI advanced development and use cases fitting local and group priorities.
Data and Analytics
7. Enable growth of IWPB business empowered by data intelligence. Lead the Data and Analytics team to deliver data-driven insights, hyper-personalization and solutions. Build a best-in-class data ecosystem with the advanced data and experimentation agenda. Enforce data policies and strategies across the organisation.
8. Identify opportunities for data monetization and champion the adoption of emerging technologies to create innovative solutions.
9. Explore AI technologies to accelerate data applications in IWPB areas, and collaborate with business and IT to define and roll out the strategic initiatives in line with the bank’s AI roadmap.
Transformation
10. Execute the HSBC's strategic changes and transformation. Lead the scoping and delivery of group or local strategic change programmes with the business and through strategic delivery partners.
11. Translate HSBC's business priorities into clear objectives for teams, with focus on international, premier and wealth strategies. Ensure prudent supervision from initative planning, resource budgeting, program monitoring and risk mitigation. Continuously assess the impact on the benefit realisation for the programme and takes action to optimise.
12. Obtain buy-ins from and influence stakeholders for all key programme plans and commitments. Promote adherence to project/programme governance mode, in particular large or complex initiatives.
Leadership
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders across the group in a matrix structure. Foster a culture of trust, collaboration and accountability. Promote agility, innovation, and excellence.
- Build and nurture a high-performing team across various disciplines. Lead the teams to develop a deep understanding of the business, challenge the status quo, improve ways of working, and instill a growth mindset. Successful delivery of Plan on headcount, direct cost and FTE.
- Continuously assess competitive landscape and develop opportunities to deliver sustainable cost savings and operational efficiencies.
- Strictly adheres to all applicable legal and compliance requirements and fulfils legal and governance responsibilities. Ensures operational compliance and effectiveness with internal control mechanisms and operational risk controls in place.
To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
- Over 10 years of experience as senior leader of business and people management
- Possess a solid understanding of the financial markets and banking industry, with a proven track record of successfully delivering change initiatives. Experience in consumer banking is a plus.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies and trends that can drive transformation and innovation. Maintain cutting-edge understanding and cognition of AI technology and use cases. Experience in Fintech business or related domain will be a plus.
- Strong business acumen with high ability to understand business needs, drive digital channel performance, diagnose and articulate ambiguity in business problems, formulate recommendation of solutions for adoption and commercialization.
- A strong understanding of technology platform management to ensure resilience, scalability and business continuity.
- Proven ability to influence leadership teams and secure senior stakeholder buy-in through impactful story telling.
- A seasoned executive with leadership, excellent communication and influencing capability, and the ability to drive a diverse group including internal and external partners. Demonstrate strong leadership attributes with experience in working within teams across multiple sites in a highly matrixed organization.
- Proven ability to maximize partnerships and effectively manage third-party relationships.
- Expertise in analyzing and optimizing business processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Strong skills in strategic planning and execution, with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders, fostering collaboration and alignment across different areas of the organization.

- Innovative thinking. Ability of shaping and communicating sound principals to support design and development of effective solutions
