Our GCIO organisation plays a critical role for the bank. This team partners with the businesses to build the platforms, systems, and products that our customers use every day. We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team.
In this role, you will:
· Implement strategic plans to align with market growth opportunities in the Greater Bay Area (GBA) and CN-HK corridor.
· Drive the integration of emerging technologies, such as Gen-AI, to enhance operational efficiency and business enablement across various business lines.
· Spearhead digital transformation efforts to leverage advanced technologies and drive client-centric innovation.
· Identify and capitalize on opportunities for competitive differentiation through technological advancements.
· Build and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, business partners, and clients.
· Assist HBCN CIO in developing the in-country Fintech ecosystem engagements, amplifying efforts through local forums and communications and branding initiatives
· Act as the Innovation Digital Product Owner to translate the strategic vision for strengthening business engagement into actionable initiatives and represent the team in high-level meetings and discussions to advocate for strategic initiatives and advanced technology adoption.
· Coordinate IT project requirements by centrally managing the intake of business needs and organizing cross-functional reviews. Assess the necessity, feasibility, and priority of each requirement based on business value, technical implementation, and resource investment, and develop standardized requirement documentation. Additionally, be responsible for the full lifecycle management of requirement documents to ensure completeness and traceability. This provides a reliable foundation for project development, testing, and future audits, ensuring alignment between IT initiatives, business objectives, and regulatory requirements.
· Lead and manage a team specializing in digital product development, AI innovation, and requirement management, providing them with guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
· Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment to support strategic objectives and continuous improvement.
要求
To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
Education
· Bachelor’s degree (or above) in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent business qualification is a plus.
Experience
· 10+ years of experience in technology leadership roles, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership position within the banking or financial services industry.
· Demonstrated experience in leading AI technology, data technology, and banking support in a large-scale, regulated environment.
· Experience in the Chinese financial market or with foreign banks operating in China is highly desirable.
Technical Skill
· Deep knowledge of machine learning, data science, banking knowledge and applications.
· Familiarity with modern software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, DevOps), technologies and banking operation.
Leadership Skill
· Strong strategic thinking and ability to balance between technology development and business objectives.
· Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with experience in managing cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
· Ability to maintain complex stakeholder relationships and influence the senior ones.
Language
· Fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese (written and spoken) is required.
Cultural Fit
· Understand Chinese business environment and familiar with cross-location, multiculture collaboration in an international organization.
Preferred Qualification
· Familiarity with Chinese financial regulators (e.g. NFRA, PBoC, CFETS) and their technology-related requirements.
· Proven success in leading large-scale digital transformation projects in the banking sector.
· Strong project management skills, particularly in business project management, with experience overseeing cross-functional initiatives that align technology strategy with business outcomes.
