In this role you will:
- Manage and oversee High Net Worth (“HNW”) insurance in Bermuda, including Bermuda Insurance Operations, Underwriting, and first line Anti-Money Laundering (“AML”) / Anti-Terrorist Financing (“ATF”) activities
- Establish distribution agreements and ongoing relationship management with international brokers, including owning the business plan and overseeing broker deliverables, complaints, and escalations
- Oversee all HNW (and related reinsurance) operations, including signing off on HNW Enhanced Due Diligence (“EDD”) profiles, underwriting recommendations, and local budget and financial plans
- Build sound relationships with internal and external partners, including international brokers, regulatory bodies, and Global Insurance Underwriting, Distribution, IT, and Product teams
- Develop and own appropriate controls to ensure that Distribution, Underwriting and Product decisions are made as per HSBC and Bermuda regulatory requirements
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following criteria:
- Proven understanding and solid experience in International HNW insurance market
- Knowledge assisting with the sign-off of Financial Crime Compliance risk decisions is desirable
- Solid commercial and goal-oriented mindset with experience managing a team of high performing professionals
- Excellent planning and communication skills, with the ability to develop sound relationships with a variety of stakeholders across seniorities and geographies
- Ability to work independently and take initiative when required
