As our Head of HR Operations, US, this role will be responsible for overseeing the HR delivery service and HR COO teams across the country in respect of provision of advice and guidance on the full Operations, to include payroll, third party management, service, risk, business change, risk management, etc.

The role will be required to:

  • Ensure that the service is delivered efficiently with full alignment with the global people strategy and people priorities in region - In partnership with the Head of People and people SMEs

  • Ensure consistent application of the risk framework in region

  • Oversee HR service quality ensuring consistently high standards of customer outcome

  • Manage conflicting priorities and ensure prioritization in line with the plan

  • Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements, labour laws and regulations

  • Oversee local reporting, including regulatory reporting, internal and external audits, statutory reviews, etc

  • Oversee the management of operations related activities, including payroll, third party management, etc

  • Drive the implementation of key change initiatives and activities

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, achieve targets and metrics, simplify and improve the efficiency and capability of the function

  • Oversee financials and manage local resource allocations and budget

  • Manage stakeholder expectations in relation to products, services and potential solutions, alternative options, cost implications and other considerations to drive the right outcomes that meet legal and regulatory requirements

  • Support the development and capability of the HR COO team members

  • Support the Head of People to maintain relevant oversight and monitoring of people risk

     

For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $160,000.00 and $225,000.00

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

Requirements

You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

  • Significant experience in a complex matrix environment with experience in multiple HR disciplines

  • Solid stakeholder management skills and provision of detailed solution options, cost considerations, benefits, risks and potential outcomes by recommending and implementing such solutions

  • Sound knowledge and understanding of HR Operating models, products and solutions, labour laws and regulations coupled with an appreciation for risk management

  • Strong experience in leading business change / transformation and / or project delivery

  • Good project management skills and experience in developing concepts and seeing through to implementation

  • Proven analytical ability, and ability to establish data driven HR decisions

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to interact and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Flexibility, tenacity and resilience to deal with business demands during periods of high workload

  • A commercial mind-set focused on outcomes over activity

  • Experience in managing and leading large team through change

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Knowledge of HR risk first LoD and second LoD activities
