We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director, Software Engineering Specialist
In this role, you will
- Program Definition and Planning: Defining program objectives, scope, and strategy, and developing a comprehensive program plan.
- Project Oversight: Managing and coordinating multiple IT projects within the program, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Resource Management: Allocating resources effectively, including budget, personnel, and technology, across different projects within the program.
- Stakeholder Management: Engaging and communicating with stakeholders at various levels, including senior management, project managers, and team members.
- Risk Management: Identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies to minimize their impact on the program.
- Performance Monitoring: Tracking program progress, identifying issues, and implementing corrective actions to ensure successful delivery.
- Change Management: Managing changes to the program scope, schedule, or budget, and ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines.
- Team Leadership: Providing guidance, support, and direction to project managers and team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Communication and Reporting: Keeping stakeholders informed of program status, progress, and any issues or risks, through regular reports and presentations.
- Service Sustainability (SSP): Joint ownership of the SSP Book of Work, Capacity review and governance of the book
- Design workflows/ process maps for service transition processes
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
- Project Management: Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- Leadership: Ability to motivate and guide teams, manage conflicts, and make decisions effectively.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and analyse problems, develop solutions, and implement corrective actions.
- Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of IT systems, infrastructure, and technologies.
- Financial Management: Ability to manage budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Risk Management: Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks.
- Stakeholder Management: Ability to build relationships, manage expectations, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Exposure to Agile methodology, DevOps.
- Exposure to Payments Processing.
- Exposure to HSBC Service Management and Governance processes and tools i.e EIM, PLADA, UCMDB, SCOTT, ODS, HELIOS, ICE ETC.
- Exposure to both the development and service management processes.
- Infrastructure knowledge eg. APIs, MQ, DB, VMs, VCS, File transmissions etc.
