We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Product Owner - Client Contracts (CLASS, Hexagon)

Business: Global Banking & Markets

Principal responsibilities

  • Take a strategic, principle-based approach to product development and work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to drive the implementation of Future State Architecture and service model
  • Develop business cases including analysis of change, technology and other costs, design proposals, product presentations and other high impact documents for stakeholder engagement
  • Apply structured design thinking and create high-quality design proposals to ensure services and outcomes are developed in line with long-term data consumers’ business needs Identify opportunities to design and develop shared services across Data Operations, in collaboration with other data domain product owners, to reduce cost of change and maintenance
  • Define user stories and prioritise the book of work throughout the agile project lifecycle in conjunction with change & delivery leads and in partnership with consumers across the lines of business
  • Drive forward trusted source functional enhancements to promote trusted source adoption by consumers, by providing clear problem statements, solution designs and backlog management
  • Drive the Rapid Application Development (RAD) agenda as required, understanding and documenting linkages to trusted source gaps as an input to the strategic product roadmap
    Articulate current state inefficiencies and risks in a consistent, structured manner to enable data led design thinking in support of continuous improvement, including the management of these through JIRA/Confluence as appropriate and representing these risks at WG/PSC
  • Contribute to ensure the Data Product team is seen as a thought leader for the design of effective data services, and as delivering tangible improvements for the MSS business.
    Role-model the Data & Reg Reporting vision, to instil a culture that inspires and engages people with the HSBC Values and goals as the basis of inclusive, high performing, customer-centric teams.

Requirements
  • Deep understanding of reference and market data processes and architecture. Strong knowledge of the data needs in a corporate and institutional banking environment.
  • Understanding of front-to-back system and data architecture, supporting the MSS business. Demonstrate strong knowledge of the external environment – regulatory, political, industry, innovation etc
  • Understanding of legal documentation in a financial markets context is an advantage. Proven ability to articulate complex issues concisely to obtain buy-in and support. Proven track record of solution design for complex data and system architecture challenges Strong track record of change delivery and process improvement - capable of adapting their vision and approach to ensure delivery.
  • Proven experience of positive, challenging interactions with Senior Management and business leaders. Proven ability in working across multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural, diverse work environments.
  • Strong analytical background and a track record of working with large and complex data sets.
  • Experience of working in a Product Owner role with complex technical change agenda. Proven strategic thinker with subject matter expertise - demonstrates an understanding of market trends and innovations. Have excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels.
  • Demonstrate a strong ‘can do’ attitude, high level of motivation to solve difficult problems, meet aggressive deadlines and targets. Well-developed planning and time management skills to progress multiple initiatives in parallel. Be tenacious in approach with the ability to challenge the norm / present viable alternative approaches. Business process analysis using swim lane techniques ideally with a recognised CASE tool.
  • Conceptual and Logical data modelling. Functional / Technical story writing, API analysis and design Artificial Intelligence analysis and design experience (Semantic modelling, Meta Data design, Knowledge graph experience)
