Global Payments Solutions (GPS) is made up of almost 10,000 people, across more than 60 countries. The business is uniquely positioned to help clients make payments across borders, across currencies and regulations, quickly and cost effectively with dedicated in country and regional support. Our expertise in this area is repeatedly recognised by the industry’s most prominent publications and associations with numerous global, regional and country awards.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Sales Manager, Corporate, Global Payment Solutions.

Principal Responsibilities

In this role you will

  • Promotes the most appropriate and sustainable solutions for our customers; Follows up on all client inquiries and builds internal relationships to uncover new and expanding opportunities within the client base
  • Deepens customer insight by gathering information from many sources and uses it to shape HSBC's approach to our customers; Continually reassesses the Sales process through to implementation and works closely with other stakeholders to identify efficiencies and work towards continuous improvement
  • Shows insight and judgment to identify, target, and influence long-term opportunities, new customers, and/or key decision-makers and builds plans to enable delivery against customer requirements; Refers more complex requirements to Solution Sales teams and records client requirements that cannot be met by HSBC's existing product suite in our CRM tools
  • Analyses customer behaviour across all touchpoints to optimize the sales approach and enhance service and customer cash management experience online and offline; Explores the use of analytics tools to scale up new customer acquisition, cross-sell, up-sell, and pre-emptive retention to drive incremental benefits to the business
  • Focuses on building a network across the bank and knowing who to go to (either in Hong Kong or overseas) to gain help, advice, and knowledge regarding processes and procedures to ensure we meet customers' expectations
  • Uses a selection of sales techniques to identify, counter, and resolve objections and uses a range of influencing skills to achieve closure of the deal and achieve personal targets, whilst knowing when to compromise to gain the most equitable solution without damaging future relationships; Understands, interprets, and communicates what is happening in the marketplace across customers and business segments
  • Keeps the Management informed of progress / major obstacles towards progress on Sales performance; Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Conduct market research, analyse business dynamics and provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior leadership to facilitate informed decision-making; Develop robust business performance monitoring framework to ensure effective review of business outcome and work closely with GPS stakeholders to identify grow opportunities
Requirements

To be successful you will need

  • Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. Sales, Relationship Management, Service, Business Management
  • Proven ability to identify and meet customer needs through matching a broad range of products and services; Good level of business acumen and commercial awareness, including of economic, cultural, procedural and regulatory issues
  • Experience in implementing data science in multiple areas of business domains and a track record of leveraging large amount of data to drive significant business impact preferred
  • Knowledge and interest in data analytics and data science; Ability to assimilate knowledge quickly in a rapidly changing technical environment
  • Past experience in Fintech companies from Mainland China is a plus
  • Fluency in English, Cantonese and Mandarin
