We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team.
In this role, you will:
- Specific responsibilities include the creation and execution of the China Product strategy in line with MSS strategy, the definition of the sector proposition and the representation of the sector proposition both internally and externally.
- Revenue – validate product proposition enables the growth objective of HSS strategy
- Cost – maximise consistent use of technology and operating model by promoting repeatable solutions for target clients
- Define product development priorities in conjunction with product management
- Identify and assess value of new services and impact of market and regulatory developments for client segment working in conjunction with product teams
- communicate segment value proposition via conferences, industry associations
- Support Sales and SCM on assessing product solutions for prospective and existing clients
- Lead product representation during sales and RFP process acting as coordination point
- Engage and communicate with top clients to engrain segment value proposition and understand future client requirements, supporting client forums, user group
- Engaging with functions in all relevant HSS locations to understand client requirements for the sector and to communicate the product strategy and design to ensure a consistent message is delivered to existing and potential clients.
- This role requires strong leadership and team work to engage the business at different levels, including HSS ExCo to ensure priorities are agreed.
- As the product crosses a number of different functions within the Product Group e.g. Digital, Middle Office, etc., open communication and teamwork is essential.
- Communicate segment status and plans to Sales, SCM Product, Service Delivery, Product Delivery and COO
- An advocate for the global operating model supporting the sector ensuring a consistent representation across all relevant locations.
- Maintain awareness of sector operating model across Asia and Europe and engage with Global Operating Model owners to ensure it remains aligned to overall sector strategy and is focused on increasing our market share and profitability.
- Monitor client feedback and market viewpoint on an ongoing basis and instigate action with Product Management
To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
- Strong experience in China’s financial services industry working directly at custodian or fund operations at fund houses. (at least 8-10 years).
- Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of China’s capital market and market infrastructure.
- Demonstrates a thorough understanding of China’s asset management industry and in particular the Custody and Fund Administration (FA&TA).
- Demonstrates a solid grasp of the technology and systems supporting the product with direct knowledge of core Custody and Fund Administration platforms. Knowledge of China local systems (e.g. Hundsun) will be an advantage.
- Strategic mind-set, with strong conceptual, creative and analytical content.
- Energetic, results focused, change agent, with a strong work ethic.
- Strong organisation, multi-tasking and time management skills.
- Personal qualities of stability, maturity and leadership. Team player and people motivator.
- First class interpersonal, collaborative, relationship building and influencing skills.
- Excellent communicator, ability to work in English and Mandarin both verbally and in writing, with strong presentation skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus
- Professional accounting qualification CPA, ACCA, CIMA etc. is a plus.
