This vacancy is a Senior Engineer position in HSBC’s HR Information Technology department. This technical role will primarily support our US HR Payroll Operations team and oversee the biweekly payroll runs for the US HSBC employee population. The role will monitor batch and online processes to ensure smooth operations of our employee compensation, as well as manage any new configurations or required customizations. The role will also support various third-party HR benefits Software as a Service vendors including the integrations and operations with our internal systems. Technical knowledge of SAP Successfactors and SAP Employee Central Payroll is a must as well as expertise in Unix, Linux, and integrations middleware environments.
As our Senior Engineer you will:
- Share technical leadership responsibilities in managing the biweekly US employee payroll runs via SAP Successfactors Employee Central Payroll
- Work closely with the HR Payroll Operations team in triaging production tickets, new configuration changes, and customizations
- Serve as one of the primary technical points of contact for SAP in resolving issues related to the SAP platform, system integration, batch processing and performance, and the evaluation of new functionality for impacts to US payroll
- Assist in managing US HR team’s third-party employee benefits vendor relationships and work with internal teams on data and system integrations issues
- Participate in business and technology transformation projects to improve efficiency, user functionality, and cost reduction
- Serve as the primary contact in the Americas for SAP Successfactors upgrades; identify, address and resolve support tickets
- The US HR Operations business is located primarily in Illinoi but receives support from technical colleagues in the UK, India and Hong Kong
For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $103,300.00 and $155,000.00
The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:
- Undergraduate or equivalent degree preferred
- Knowledge of SAP Successfactors, SAP Employee Central Payroll, and related components of the SAP Successfactors suite is a must
- Technical knowledge of other modules of SAP Successfactors suite a must
- Knowledge of employee time management and attendance systems a plus
- Knowledge of the Human Resources function and/or relevant employee/customer corporate processes in a global environment
- Knowledge of service management and service-related analytical practices
- Knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies and DevOps practices
- Knowledge of banking operating models, Cloud, DevOps and Agile certifications are preferred
