We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join our team as Senior Multi Asset Investment Specialist.

Role Purpose

• This position will play a key role in supporting our strategic Asia growth initiatives and the development of investment solutions for our internal and external customers. 1) The individual will engage with key stakeholders and senior executives to set the Multi Asset product strategy in Asia and will ensure its implementation; 2) review the local product and service shelf and ensure that they meet the long-term needs of our clients. He/she will make recommendations to enhance the product offering and potentially suggest products and services rationalization; 3) Lead the team of Multi Asset investment specialists located in Asia and will ensure our resources support the business ‘s needs.
• The Senior Investment Specialist is a product and investment expert focused on supporting AM’s range of Multi-Asset discretionary services and products and ensuring an effective link between portfolio management and distribution. He/she is able to explain the portfolio past performance and the current portfolio positioning.  He/she understands our client needs and is anxious to retain our current investors and grow our investor base. The individual will work closely with all stakeholders and will help coordinate their activities, including the portfolio management teams, relationship and servicing teams.
• An important part of the role is improving HSBC AM Multi Asset ’s positioning in the market via the local and global media. Working with AM Communication teams, the incumbent will be expected to host media “round-tables’, write articles and attend client/distributor events.
• The role is client-facing, focusing on supporting sales momentum and servicing our current investors via client visits, client events, investment commentaries, media interactions, articles, white papers and clients’ briefing.
• The success of this role will rely on the candidate’s ability to champion, oversee and set a strategic vision for our  multi-asset products, discretionary multi asset solutions and Portfolio Advisory Service.
• The role holder will work in close collaboration with the Global Head of Multi Asset Products and support key global initiatives. 

Principal Accountabilities:

 Product Development, Management and Strategy

• Oversee our multi-asset products, discretionary multi asset solutions and Portfolio Advisory Service and propose enhancements where appropriate.
• Initiate and steer the evolution of multi asset product and services  (e.g. fund launches, re-organization), act as a key point person for fund, advisory or discretionary launches and revamp. Ensure that Multi Asset products are priced appropriately. ensuring a fair value for our customers and maintaining the long-term objective of profitability of our shareholders.
• Maintain solid understanding of competitive positioning and provide regular feedback on key competitors and market trends
• Keep track of regulatory changes which have an impact on investment funds or advisory and discretionary solutions and coordinate with relevant stakeholders for actions.

Represent Investment Team to key stakeholders and clients

• Expert on the funds and Discretionary Portfolio’ investment process, views and positions. Provide thought leadership and articles for external and internal publication.
• Deliver effective client communication to targeted client segments. Understand how our process differs from key competitors.
• Provide topical market and strategy updates to sales teams on a regular basis. Provide timely comments on performance and ensure pro-active communication is made in case of a “market event”. Proactively communicate sales propositions and investment opportunities. At the request of Client Directors to attend client meetings.
• Provide regular written portfolio strategy commentary for use in client reports / fact sheets according to pre-agreed deadlines. Update marketing materials and contribute to RFPs. Agree appropriate guidelines and characteristics for mandates, products and services.

• Extensive experience working in a multi-asset senior role; whether as product specialist, sales, in research/fund management or investment consultancy/institutional role will be a key requirement
• Experience working in a large global organization and working with the challenges posed by an international business function is highly advantageous.
• Experience in working with Senior Management (Executive level)
• CFA or equivalent post degree investment qualification
• Problem solver attitude. Highly motivated and the ability to work independently
• Excellent presentation skills; verbal and written communication skills; fluency in Cantonese, & English and ideally Mandarin
• Travel in Asia is required
