We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Strategic Planning and Stress Testing Manager - STRTGIC PLANNINGSTRESS TESTNG.

Principal responsibilities

  • This is a regional role and would sit within the Strategic Planning and Stress Testing (SPST) team which is situated within the Asia Pacific Finance function.
  • Perform the execution, interpretation, and explanation of outputs derived primarily from traditional stress testing and climate stress testing models / tools, including performing analyses and review / challenge of the trends and behaviours observed.
  • Manage the model development life cycle for stress testing / strategic planning / business forecasting, as well as the design, testing and documentation of models in line with HSBC standards.
  • Combine quantitative and qualitative inputs and outputs from various stress testing exercises, turning data into analysis, and analysis into insights.
  • Develop relevant reports and presentations for senior Management and Committee members.
  • Establish strong, effective, and collaborative working relationships within the SP&ST team and with all stakeholders across Finance, Risk, and Global Business lines.

  • Advanced training in mathematics, statistics, physics, computer science, or another highly quantitative field.
  • Demonstrate expertise and hands on programming experience in scripting (e.g., Python), and/or analytical packages (e.g., R, MATLAB).
  • Experience in large financial institution within risk / finance / quantitative analysis as part of market/credit risk, planning and stress testing, liquidity management/modelling, portfolio analysis, or capital/risk analytics.
  • Strong knowledge of wholesale credit risk models.
  • An ability to communicate advanced concepts in a concise and logical way.
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; proficiency in Putonghua is an advantage.

Candidate with less relevant experience or skills may be offered a lower Global Career Band than stated above.
