We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Vice President, Business Development .
Principal Responsibilities
In this role you will
Strategic Distributor Management
- Lead and manage relationships with key distributors, acting as the main point of contact to drive both top-line (ANP) and bottom-line (profit i.e. NBCSM) growth
- Develop and execute business development strategies tailored to the high-net-worth segment, ensuring alignment with company goals and distributor capabilities
Market and Opportunity Development
- Identify new business opportunities through market research, competitor analysis, and feedback from distributors to expand market share and profitability
- Provide insights on product features, benefits, and market trends to distributors, supporting their new business efforts and enhancing value propositions
Business Enablement and Operational Support
- Oversee all submissions including preliminary applications, underwriting appeals, and case management for distributor partners, ensuring smooth and timely processes
- Collaborate with internal teams (operations, marketing, product) to improve products, resolve distributor queries, implement process improvements, and support efficient business operations
Performance Monitoring and Reporting
- Track distributor performance against new business targets and profitability metrics, providing regular updates and recommendations to channel head
- Proactively raise and address process or product improvements based on distributor feedback and market dynamics
This role is central to driving sustainable growth by building strong distributor partnerships, optimising business processes, and delivering tailored solutions for high-net-worth clients via our distributors
To be successful you will need
- Ability to develop and execute tailored business plans for distributors, aligning their goals with the organisation’s growth objectives and ensuring both top and bottom line results
- Expertise in building long-term, trust-based relationships with distributors using proactive communication and empathy to anticipate and address evolving needs
- Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data, assess market trends, and provide distributors with well-informed recommendations and solutions
- Professionalism in all interactions, including clear, confident communication and the ability to present solutions back to distributors
- Anticipating challenges and actively seeking solutions for distributors, demonstrating initiative and responsiveness to maintain high service standards
- Experience in optimizing distribution networks, aligning channel strategies, and driving growth through effective distributor engagement and support
