Vice President – Tax

Role Purpose 

 The primary purpose of this role is to assist with the tax compliance in respect of income tax and withholding taxes, tax reporting to HSBC regional office in HK and HSBC group in the UK, and find ways to automate/streamline these tax  compliance and tax reporting processes, including the process of working with external tax agent for the preparation of the income tax return.  The role holder will assist in the preparation of tax transfer pricing documentation and transfer pricing advisory relating to HSBC INM and HSBC entities

 Principal Accountabilities:  Key activities and decision making areas

Tax compliance and support

• Provide support and guidance to manage the tax returns and submissions to tax authorities. 
• Provide support and guidance to manage the tax reporting and submissions to the Asia Pacific HK team and UK Group Tax team.  
• Prepare the monthly current tax and deferred tax provisions and withholding tax returns, and carry out reconciliation and substantiation of tax balance sheet accounts.

Tax advice and support

• Provision of tax advice to Global Businesses/Functions on matters including income tax and transfer pricing.  
• Prepare and maintain tax Transfer Pricing documentation.  
• This role would also work closely with other Asia Pacific jurisdictions to understand and comply with similar requirements from time to time.

• B.Com & Degree of Chartered Accountant/ CPA
