We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director, Software Engineering.

 

Business: Enterprise Technology L3

 

Principal responsibilities

  • Assist entity business stakeholders with the decomposition of complex business requirements into Epics and User Stories that can be delivered by Technology teams via respective backlogs with minimum cross product co-ordination
  • Maintain effective communication with core teams and work together with entity stakeholders to drive the most appropriate backlog items to be completed to support delivery
  • Drive the use of Agile methodologies within Technology teams (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, Lean) in line with corresponding transformation frameworks at the bank
  • Ensuring that all Technology practices and associated tools are being adopted and adhered to within the Pod
  • Work across business and technology to establish effective controls, procedures and quality assurance processes for the product in line with the Business Transformation Framework and HSBC Risk and Controls framework
  • Manage the reporting of progress, issues, dependencies and risks to committees and make recommendations to influence decision making in order to maintain progress towards delivery and benefits realisation.
Requirements
  • GCP Engineering or Architecture Certification preferred is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience in an Object-Oriented development language is desirable but not essential.
  • Knowledge of GCP and Azure Cloud technology
  • Knowledge in HSBC IT processes such as ITSA/EHC is a must, hands-on experience and sound understanding of both, HSBC processes and standards
  • Knowledge in Agile/Scrum methodologies is expected
  • Proven experience of leading RTB / Production support teams
  • Ability to manage and prioritise and work independently under pressure within a diverse team environment
  • Ability to conceptualise the operational impact of business change
  • Experience in managing medium to large size projects involving multiple business and technology teams
  • Experience in working with senior stakeholders communicating project issues and managing expectations
  • Highly developed communication, presentation and influencing skills, strong English communication skills, both written and verbal
