  • Role Purpose: To assist the Head of Compliance MI, MENAT with all the reporting aspects of the Compliance function focusing primarily on managing the production of reports and challenging global processes and data quality.

Role Context:

  • Work collaboratively within the regional and country Compliance teams and regional LoBs and functions to ensure the provision of high-quality reports.
  • Play a key role in the team’s delivery of outstanding performance.
  • Provide support to the Compliance teams when required.
  • Think proactively.

Global COO to support execution of the Regulatory Compliance Data Strategy and assist in putting data at the forefront of the Regulatory Compliance agenda.

Regulatory Compliance have recently created a Data team within Compliance CDO to execute against the Compliance CDO Data Strategy. This role will be involved in a number of areas to support the execution and includes:

  • Data Quality & Improvement
  • Data Landscape & Data Simplification
  • Policy & Governance
  • Data Analysis

The data team supports a number of RC Services including Assurance, Risk Strategy, Policy & Governance and specialist services such as Surveillance and Conflicts.

The Opportunity:

  • The jobholder is required to manage the delivery of MI and reports in a timely manner as dictated by the stakeholders.
  • In addition, the jobholder will be required to liaise with country and regional Compliance teams to ensure timely submissions of reporting requirements and provide them with technical and SME support.
  • The jobholder is also required to engage with the Regional Lines of Business and Functions to ensure they are adhering to the set processes relevant to the function.
  • Proactively initiate, develop ideas on reporting and analysis. Maintain an environment of continuous improvement that add value to the data processed by the Management Information team, thereby providing more inputs to the management. 
  • Effective written and personal communication across all levels of seniority, supporting the clear articulation recommendations and analysis.
  • Further enhance a Compliance culture among the sites.
  • Effective time management and work prioritization.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to challenge data quality.

What you’ll do:

Impact on the Business

  • Produce meaningful data for the Europe and MENAT teams to take critical decisions related to Operations, Risk and Compliance
  • Provide various analyses to a varied audience including senior management, processing teams, lines of businesses etc.,
  • Collate business related data by coordinating with multiple teams such as Analytics, IT teams, Operations etc., as per the requirement.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and suggest solutions to the management and interpret complex data and present the same in a simple understandable format.
  • Responsible for querying large data sets and transforming data into digestible intelligence for Compliance Stakeholders
  • Proactively develop ideas that will add value to the data processed by the Management Information team
  • Review and challenge the data flowing from various Compliance systems and into qlikview platforms
  • Providing technical and SME support to the country and regional teams on delivering timely MI and updates.
  • Work independently on implementing assigned projects.
  • Take autonomous decisions around process changes and challenge global teams on implementation details and timelines.
  • Is accountable for delivery against prescribed targets, programmes and project budgets and resourcing.
  • Is a point of contact and escalation for the team in their area.
  • Conduct training sessions on new processes and requirements to all stakeholders, internal (Compliance) and external (LoBs and Functions).
  • Represent Regional Compliance MI in regional and global governance forums within their area and provide insight, challenge proposals and make decisions on behalf of the function.
  • To understand, and ensure compliance with, all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the function in which the job holder is involved.
Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • A Masters/ Bachelor’s degree preferable in IT/ Computer Science/ Finance or equivalent experience
  • 5 - 6 years of proven and progressive experience in Compliance at a financial institution or comparable environment.
  • 8 - 10 years of proven and progressive work in a reporting team, project-oriented environment, including management consulting, project management and/or business analysis experience.
  • Experience in designing reports, writing queries to extract data, performing data transformation, etc.
  • Proficiency in MS office suite with Excel/ VBA and PowerPoint skills
  • Experience in Alteryx, SQL, Python and developing Qliksense dashboards will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of JIRA and Agile a plus.

What additional skills will be good to have?

  • Prior experience in Compliance will be an added advantage.
  • Proven ability to distill complex and varied data into information that can be utilized by the global functions to manage and measure performance.
  • Previous experience working on improving process and procedure is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Business Intelligence, Reporting and Data Warehouse solutions is a plus.
  • Outstanding written / verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical, design and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to organize and lead meetings, interviews, or workshops with stakeholders of all seniorities.
  • The successful candidate will be practical, diplomatic, and professional. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail combined with the willingness and ability to take complete ownership of issues, work independently with confidence, and deliver to deadlines in line with expectation.
