We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Actuarial Manager.

Principal Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of actuarial analysts, ensuring high-quality output and professional growth
  • Review and validate the work of Senior Actuarial Analysts, ensuring actuarial models, reports, and calculations meet professional and regulatory standards
  • Provide technical guidance and coaching to junior team members on actuarial methodologies, IFRS 17, and financial reporting practices
  • Manage workflow and resource allocation within the team to ensure timely delivery of key financial and regulatory reports

 Financial Reporting & Reserving

  • Oversee actuarial reserving processes, including best estimate liability calculations, risk adjustment, and contractual service margin (CSM) computations under IFRS 17
  • Ensure accurate and timely quarterly and annual reserving, financial statement disclosures, and regulatory submissions
  • Review and enhance actuarial models used for financial reporting, ensuring they align with best practices and industry developments
  • Collaborate with finance teams to align actuarial outputs with accounting and financial reporting standards

Risk Management & Business Support

  • Support assumption setting, experience analysis, and stress testing for financial planning and risk management
  • Review actuarial risk assessments and provide insights to senior management on financial and strategic decision-making
  • Oversee reinsurance analysis and its impact on IFRS 17 financial statements
  • Provide actuarial insights into business planning, profitability analysis, and capital management strategies
  • Provide support to ongoing projects related to the risk and control framework
Requirements

Skills

  • Fully qualified actuary (e.g., FIA, FSA, FCAS, or equivalent) or near-qualified with significant experience
  • Experience with actuarial modelling software (e.g., Prophet, Moses, RAFM) and proficiency in Excel, VBA, SQL, Python, or R
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex actuarial concepts to non-actuaries

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with IFRS 17 implementation, cash flow modelling, and risk adjustment methodologies
  • Experience in financial reporting automation and improving actuarial processes
  • Knowledge of reinsurance structures and their financial reporting impact
  • Actuarial experience, K54with a strong background in financial reporting, reserving, and IFRS 17
  • Proven experience in reviewing actuarial work and leading actuarial teams
  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS 17, regulatory frameworks, and financial reporting frameworks
