We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of 

Assessor Policy Procedure Governance – US

 

Role purpose:

Compliance Advisory and Stewardship CoE (centers of excellence) supports the Central Compliance & Advisory Services on a Global level. Within Compliance advisory and stewardship centers of excellence, US Compliance Advisory & Stewardship cy (USCAS) team supports different functions of US Compliance, covering Risk Strategy (including stewardship activities), Policy & Procedure Governance, Governance & Reporting, Compliance Analytics, Risk Steward Activities for few Regulatory driven and other areas. 

The Role of the Manager of Policy & Procedure Governance Team includes but is not limited to the following:

  • Work with US Policy & Governance team in delivering the policy changes and Procedure updates.
  • Manage the policy dispensations.
  • Reporting of CAP160 requirements.
  • Continuous monitoring of the policy controls.
  • Policy reviews and publish the new policies and in global Functional Instructional Manual (FIM).
  • Prepare and share daily, weekly, monthly Management Reports
  • The incumbent will report and interact with the In country Policy & Governance Lead on regular basis to ensure successful attainment of the objectives including enhancing the efficiency of the process.

Main activities:

  • Review Compliance Policies and raise exceptions in line with FIM policies and change requirements 
  • Review and maintain Compliance Policy Governance procedures 
  • Maintenance of Compliance Website
  • Annual review of Data Retention Requirements (DRRS) 
  • Prepare and share daily, weekly, monthly Management Reports
  • Perform periodic Quality check on open/completed/assigned tasks  and share the report with the business.
  • Help identify and share best practice in a Compliance space
  • Cultivate a positive and collaborative working environment with the Compliance function
  • Build and maintain close working relationship with partners in Regulatory Compliance or elsewhere and should be able to work and co-ordinate with remote sites
  • Communicate effectively to different audiences, including both Regulatory Compliance and any other internal customers
  • Develop and maintain a current knowledge of internal and external Data Governance initiatives and best practices. Develop general awareness of Compliance Regulatory changes affecting the function
  • Pro-actively assist management in identifying and containing compliance risk, monitoring, reporting and fostering a positive Compliance culture
Requirements

          Essential

  • 3-5 years’ experience in roles within a Risk / Compliance / Regulatory framework
  • Good command of both verbal and written English
  • Ability to understand and interpret Regulations
  • Attention to details and good analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and able to build and maintain relationships
  • Utilizes own initiative to resolve issues. Ability to support decisions with sound reasoning.
  • Experience and Understanding of US regulatory structure is an added advantage.

        Highly Desirable 

  • Understanding of the different Lines and sub-Lines of Business of HSBC.
  • Knowledge of Banking and Financial Markets and Risk and Compliance.

        Advantageous

  • Experience in a role involving understanding systems and suggesting enhancements.
  • Good Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
