Where we’ll bring you

Product Control

Product Control is responsible for ensuring that traded products are completely and accurately recorded in HSBC’s books in accordance with applicable accounting standards. A career in Product Control requires financial acumen, a sense for numbers, and an understanding of financial instruments, their trading systems, and their key profit and loss (P&L) drivers.

In Product Control, you will:
  • Perform the production, analysis, explanation and reporting of daily Trading profit and loss
  • Review and investigate daily exception reports, including intersystem reconciliations, trade activity monitoring, controls over accrual books and hedge accounting
  • Provide independent review, monitoring, and challenge across benchmark rate submissions made across the bank
  • Provide system administration and governance for the book opening process
  • Ascertain reasonableness, propriety and integrity of the balance sheet through reconciliation and substantiation
  • Review the operational effectiveness of the Fair and Prudent Valuation Adjustments control framework
  • Prepare reports required for regional and group reporting
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors during regular audits 
Qualifications
Who we’re looking for
  • Holding a degree in any of the following: Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Sciences, Engineering
  • Graduated with honors from a top Philippine academic institution
  • Displaying a high potential for growth and a willingness to take on new challenges
  • Self-motivated with strong planning and organizational skills
  • Analytical and creative, with well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexible and resilient
  • Aspiring to a professional qualification such as CPA, CFA, and FRM will be an advantage
  • Willing to work in shift schedules, depending on operational and/or business requirements
