We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director, Business Management
Business: GCIO COO
Principal responsibilities
Financial responsibility for the overall value Stream
-Responsible for providing single source of customised financial reporting and analytics to enable the Value Stream and service lines to manage finances effectively
-Ensuring reporting and analysis of Budgets vs Forecast/Actual across all cost types and cost categories
-Lead Automation and Efficiency implementation
Operational responsibility for the overall value Stream
- Ensuring smooth execution of BAU and Strategic operations activities including Tracking/ Analysis and Reporting
Manage leadership communications and cascades as required
Stakeholders – Internal and External
-Work closely with members of Business Management/COO function (Finance, Workforce, Governance & Vendor) to ensure continued engagement and knowledge of operational principles
-Drive close collaboration between Service Lines, Value streams, to ensure understanding and alignment of objectives (for example with regards to workforce demand)
-Create excellent working relationship with Country aligned Business Management functions to ensure successful operational execution in key locations
Interact with Business to ensure broad understanding of capacity requirements
Leadership & Teamwork
-Potentially manage a small Business Management team to ensure strong operational management in location (where applicable)
-Excellent working relationships across COO, Portfolio Office, Platform & Value Streams
-Cultivate an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC brand
-Engage in expanding the acceptance and usage of financial reporting with all direct stakeholders
-Enable technology organization to move away from financial operational focus back into engineering focus
Operational Effectiveness & Control
-Create a model to drive strong culture of compliance and governance
-Ensure HSBC is not put at any operational or reputational risk
-Ensure alignment to Global Technology Financial Strategy
Requirements
• 10 + years professional experience in a large Global organisation preferably in an IT department or shared service organisation
• Proven track record in Operational, Planning or Financial management role
• Strong relationship Management
• Proficient in financial management and reporting
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent analytical skill, a passion for metrics and figures, and the ability to get into the details, while also seeing and understanding the big picture
• Experience of working on a global scale (i.e. across time zone & geography and with remote teams)
• Highly motivated and able to work independently, under pressure and proactively in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines
• Positive, proactive, and can-do attitude
• Familiarity with key tools including Pioneer, Discover, GPDM, Clarity, HIBS, Jira and Confluence Proficient in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint etc.
