- Set policy and provide effective oversight of the operational effectiveness of critical policies and systems covering regulatory compliance that ensure that the Korea SLS exposure to regulatory compliance related reputational risk is managed, in a commercially sensitive, practical and cost effective manner.
- Establish strategic RC standards and policies and support n setting risk appetite limits in relation to the RC risks (specifically, breach of regulatory duty to clients and other counterparties, inappropriate market conduct, breach of other regulatory requirements).
- Oversee the implementation and operational effectiveness of those standards and policies Korea SLS.
- Effective oversight and advice on high-level Regulatory Compliance risk related matters relating to the Korea SLS, the oversight of RC risk related stewardship across the Korea SLS Compliance function and the assessment of current and forward-looking aspects of RC risk exposure to Korea SLS.
- Support the development and implementation of a consistent and embedded Regulatory Compliance risk management framework.
- Acting as a trusted advisor to the senior executive stakeholders on all material regulatory compliance risk related reputational issues involving Korea SLS that arise in relation to the operational management of regulatory compliance risk.
- Coordinating a consistent approach to managing Korea SLS positive relationship with its regulators, and ensuring timely reporting and disclosure of relevant information both to our regulators and within the Group in relation to regulatory compliance matters.
- To ensure second line governance of regulatory compliance risk exposure, providing analysis, reporting and governance that is independent of the first line of defence, thereby maintaining an objective assessment of risk exposure.
Qualifications
- Significant experience as a regulator, or a senior compliance manager within a global firm, in the financial services industry.
- Detailed and extensive knowledge of the HSBC Group structure, its business and personnel, and HSBC’s corporate culture.
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, with experience of dealing with executives at all levels.
- Ability to develop practical, cost effective solutions to complex global issues.
- A legal or formal accountancy qualification or professional background in relevant risk or audit discipline.
- Ability to communicate in fluent Korean and English, both verbal and written.
