The Markets & Securities Services (MSS) division in CIB plays a critical role in facilitating access to financial markets and managing associated risks.
We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our FX Trading team in MSS, working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets.
To be successful in this this role, you will:
• Effectively maintain various risk positions and manages within position limits, providing liquidity and trade ideas to clients while trading within set limits to help the trading team achieve a given revenue target
• Ensure correct ticket entry and order routing, maintains communication with sales desk and assists in resolving any settlement problems, ensures ticket entry completion and provides general trading activity support, as necessary
• Provide consistent pricing and market making to sales force and target clients
• Monitor daily electronic trading activity and determines where certain trades should be routed for execution, reviews all activity for accuracy of account information.
• Execute firm and customers' trades in accordance with desk Volcker designation and may contribute to the formulation of trading strategies
• Ensure all trades are booked to front office position keeping system on the day they are executed
• Reconcile daily and/or monthly reports, as assigned
• Network, develop and nurture client (internal and external) relationships by anticipating and identifying their needs
• Develop close and effective working relationships within respective Regions/Countries/Functions/Global Businesses
• Build and maintain relationships with external partners, industry bodies and others to keep up to date with developments
• Deliver fair outcomes for our customers and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets
• Be aware of risk and compliance, acknowledging their importance and following or developing appropriate processes and controls
• Manage the processes, infrastructure and resources needed to deliver agreed team plans and targets, identifying and implementing improvements and collaborating with colleagues to maximise end to end integration, effectiveness and efficiency
• Maintain a robust and efficient control environment to ensure good operational, financial and project management and compliance with HSBC policy and procedures, together with early identification and effective resolution or escalation of issues that arise
• Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of management information, analysis and reporting framework that supports and informs timely and effective business management and decision making at all levels
• Lead the implementation and oversight of policy and governance frameworks, procedures, practices and standards to ensure quality, effective risk management and regulatory compliance
• Take an ethical commercial approach to business opportunities and in your day-to-day work, in accordance with HSBC Values, regulatory principles and global standards, to ensure the long-term sustainability of the business and protection of the HSBC brand
To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
• Broad understanding of financial markets and Global Markets products
• Proven trading experience in GCC/MENA FX.
• EGP/frontier market making and risk management experience Is highly desirable
• Strong knowledge in global/regional macroeconomics and oil sector/industry
• Proficiency in English is mandatory with the ability to write meaningful market updates/commentaries
• Proficiency in Arabic is highly desirable
• Graduation degree is a must – to secure a UAE Visa and Work Permit
