We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director, Software Engineering Specialist.

 

Business: CTO Infrastructure

 

Principal responsibilities

  • Be a technical lead in a team responsible for providing L2 and L3 production support across global HSBC network infrastructure such as Router/Switch, Firewall, Load-balancing, DNS etc.

  • Provide help and guidance to less experienced team members and help to coordinate the support team’s responses to critical and complex issues, working with the wider global team.

  • Network troubleshooting to deliver desired performance or break-fix.

  • Working with various IT teams including Incident Management during crisis situations, representing the Connectivity team.

  • Work within global diverse team of engineers and vendors to provide support on a “follow the Sun” basis.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities to drive down infrastructure outages and repeat failures, working with both internal engineering teams and external vendors to improve the service.

  • Ensure global standards are set and adhered to.

  • Be willing to provide on-call support on a rotational basis – which is financially rewarded.

  • Provide documentation and knowledge transfers to L1 support or junior engineers.

Requirements
  • Over 12+ network technology supporting experience in large company.

  • Strong technical skills for handling variable network Technology such as Cisco Router/Switch, Cisco ACI, Juniper Router, Checkpoint Firewall, DNS, F5 etc.

  • Deep understanding of Data Networks Topologies and protocols.

  • Strong drive to improve the services we provide to our business.

  • Need to be a good team player, able to guide less experienced engineers and collaborate at all levels.

  • Understanding of Working to ITIL/Agile Standards/Framework.

  • Experienced with network management tools such as Splunk, Sevone, NetScout, Wireshark, or similar tools.

  • Willingness and ability to learn new technologies and supporting tools in a very large and always changing enterprise environment.

  • Strong communication skills and be able to communicate and collaborate at all levels within the business.

  • Valid industry certification, such as: CCNP/CCIE.

  • Python programing or network automation experience.

  • Cloud infrastructure usage or support experience, such as: GCP, Azure, AWS, Ali.
