Our Associate, Institutional Portfolio Group will have direct responsibility for a portfolio of clients. The role is based at our New York City office.

Institutional Portfolio Group is part of the Corporate and Institutional Banking business at HSBC. IPG is responsible for HSBC’s developing relationships with institutional clients, ranging from banks and insurance firms to investors. The successful Associate will oversee a portfolio of institutional clients across the industry sectors and relationship life cycle. The Associate will also be responsible for the performance of the portfolio.

As our Associate, Institutional Portfolio Group you will:

  • Act as the Relationship Manager for a large portfolio of US and Non-US based institutional clients. Work with the clients and team members to coordinate onboardings and delivery of services across the spectrum of HSBC’s product range and in line with the IPG strategy

     

  • Combine client relationship management with strong risk assessment and management capabilities ensuring the required credit quality & returns on risk for individual relationships and across the portfolio of accounts
  • Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including timely resolution and management of client queries and internal escalations

     

  • Ensure that all portfolios and relationships comply with all AML/KYC/Compliance based requirements. Understand, follow and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including the Group Compliance policy. The Associate may also support presentations/escalations to and join governance forums
     

For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $125,000.00 and $150,000.00
 

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

Requirements

You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

  • Strong team player mindset, able to collaborate with product and support functions to deliver the right solutions to our client base. This includes good understanding of the financial products, particularly cash management and Markets products
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and clients and demonstration of commitment to excellence and perform to the highest standards and in line with HSBC’s values and business principles
  • Understanding the particularities of the client base and risks the clients may pose to HSBC. Experience in Correspondent banking and knowledge of KYC/ AML procedures and risk management related to high-risk sectors/Correspondent Banking preferred
  • Strong ommunication and organizational skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, willingness to accelerate learning
  • FINRA Series 7, 63, and 79 licenses are required. A contingency period to obtain licensing can be provided at manager’s discretion
