Communications for Businesses and Markets (CBAM) is part of our People, Governance and Communications (PG&C) structure. This team designs and implements communications strategies to support HSBC’s business objectives in line with our values and enhance / protect our reputation among key stakeholders.
We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Communications Manager, Insurance.
Principal Responsibilities
The Communications Manager, Insurance is a member of the Global IWPB Communications with responsibility for curating and implementing communications plans, projects and campaigns that deliver proactive, positive media coverage about our ambition, strategy, progress, expertise and credentials of HSBC’s Insurance business and how it supports HSBC’s Wealth agenda with synergies across the rest of the Group
In this role you will
- Identify media opportunities and execute a proactive media strategy covering drumbeat PR, content and integrated campaigns to generate coverage across a wide range of global/regional tier 1, wealth trade media and social media. These include new business developments, product launches and thought leadership
- Keep abreast of industry news and strategically position the business to stand out in a highly competitive market
- Handle reputational media issues for Insurance and manage impact on overall reputation
- Strong relationship management skills, ability to positively influence outcomes and drive change
- Experience in executing integrated communications projects independently to deliver commercial outcomes, including the development of narratives, key messages, collateral, planning, delivery and measurement
- Strong experience in communications, ideally within the financial industry
- Ability to understand business issues and devise communication solutions that deliver results, constructing fresh approaches where appropriate and making connections to other issues
- Able to work within an ambiguous environment, prioritise and reconcile competing demands and resolve complex issues
- A proven track record in developing, managing and implementing communication plans, translating into solid and practical delivery programmes
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, including the ability to work confidently and effectively with senior executives
- Fluency in spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin as well as proficiency in written English and Chinese is preferred
- Strong knowledge of communication trends and best practice
- Broad knowledge of financial services industry and global marketplace
