As our Director, GTS Technology, Media and Telecommunications Sales you will:

  • Own and manage a pipeline of new-to-trade and existing-to-trade client opportunities, working through full sales cycles from prospecting to deal closing.

  • Work closely with Relationship Managers to identify needs and deliver tailored trade finance solutions—structured and traditional—aligned with client requirements and regulatory frameworks

  • Structure customer-centric deals across solutions such as Supply Chain Finance (SCF), Inventory/Receivables Financing, Guarantees, Sustainable Trade Loans, etc. Lead RFPs, term sheet negotiations, and client presentations

  • Engage with internal stakeholders, such as coverage teams, product specialists, implementation teams, risk/compliance functions, and global GTS counterparts to deliver seamless commercial solutions

  • Monitor industry, economic, and regulatory trends, participate in industry forums and events, build HSBC’s brand within target sectors, and identify sector-specific opportunities for GTS growth

  • Ensure that all deals comply with HSBC’s credit risk, operational risk, compliance policies, and client outcome standards—safeguarding the bank’s reputation and maintaining portfolio quality.

    For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $155,700.00 and $233,600.00

    The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

Requirements

You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

  • Deep product expertise across both structured and traditional trade finance, including supply chain, receivables, inventory and sustainable finance, guarantees, documentary credits

  • Strong skills in financial modeling, competitor and market analysis, and the ability to craft persuasive proposals and client pitches

  • Excellent oral and written communication, comfortable interacting with C-suite and senior clients. Proficiency in using tools like MS Excel and PowerPoint is expected

  • Ability to collaborate in global, matrixed teams, coordinate across time zones, and work effectively with internal product, risk, and implementation partners

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business or related field

  • Master’s or industry certification in trade finance (e.g. ICFA, CITF, CTPA) is a plus.
