We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Lead Consultant Specialist.

In this role, you will:

  • Input into design discussions, guiding on architectural and engineering best practice for GCP for the lifecycle of a project.
  • Translate infrastructure design and functional requirements into code, to be deployed via CI/CD tooling into GCP environments.
  • Develop reusable terraform and automation scripts that are portable between environments and different services/projects.
  • Ensure security compliance and NFR requirements are met through the project lifecycle.
  • Implement and customise monitoring and alerting solutions that are fit for the service and stakeholder requirements.
  • Work with Global Cloud Services and key stakeholders within Lending/CCS to continually develop and adopt best practice.
  • Develop deployment processes in CI/CD tooling eg Jenkins.   
  • Drive continuous performance improvements with the stakeholders, vendors and technology subject matter specialists.
  •  Document Standard Operating Procedures, best practice, and perform knowledge transfer to others
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  •  Mandatory Skills: 
  • GCP Certified
  • Detailed understanding of GCP services and architecting principles.
  • Strong Teraform, & scripting skills and strong unix experience.
  • Knowledge of at least one development language such as Java, Perl, PHP or Python
  • Knowledge of container technologies such as Docker/Kubernetes – build and maintenance.
  • Working with code management tooling such as Github and Nexus.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD testing practices and tooling. Integrating testing into the product lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline tooling and deployments. Strong understanding of Jenkins principles, setup and maintenance.
  • Good general understanding of networking principles, Security and Integration.  
  • Experience of monitoring and alerting technologies such as AppDynamics, Splunk, Datadog and the DevOps support ecosystem.

  • Soft skills Required:  
  • Clear communication to stakeholders at all levels. Ability to articulate progress, issues and blockers in a clear and timely manner to senior management.
  • Ability to lead a group of platform engineers and be responsible for mentorship and growth
  • Experience with Agile methods of working and concepts.
  • Ability to help train and upskill other team members.
  • Strong documentation and ability to define processes.
  • Ability to navigate through problems and work with multiple teams to resolve issues and conflicts
