The ApptioOne TBM Specialist role is based within the Chief Technology Office (CTO), TBM & FinOps team, and reports to the head of the TBM Office (TBMO).  The team is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the ApptioOne system in support of IT Financial Management for CTO.  The system is used to manage internal cost recovery and application insights and is a key component of On Premise FinOps at HSBC.

As a specialist within this team you will have strong Apptio TBM Studio skills and will work towards becoming the SME of the HSBC ApptioOne model, with a focus on delivery to support on-premise FinOps development.  You will also take responsibility for key strategic parts of the HSBC model, managing ApptioOne system logic while analysing and standardising data inputs from a variety of other IT systems to build high quality and actionable data insights which will help HSBC improve financial and carbon efficiency across its IT Infrastructure.


What you’ll do:
    • Take the lead on technical design work to uplift ApptioOne in support of on-premise FinOps
    • Hold accountability for aspects of the existing ApptioOne model at HSBC. 
    • Build and maintain trusted relationships with technology specialists and be a key point of contact for their ApptioOne integration and reporting needs.
    • Analyse and troubleshoot existing ApptioOne configuration for improved accuracy and efficiency.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Technology, Finance, Procurement, and Business units, to drive alignment of initiatives with organizational goals and priorities.
    • Identify, develop, and execute opportunities to optimize costs, maximize value, and improve overall efficiency for on-premise infrastructure. 


What you need to have to succeed in this role:
    • ApptioOne Experience.  Have completed the “Apptio Certified Practitioner: ApptioOne TBM Studio Configuration” training course and/or have experience working within Apptio TBM Studio.
    • IT Infrastructure Knowledge.  A working knowledge of Enterprise Infrastructure including Data Centres, Servers, Storage and Mainframe technologies.
    • Analytical Mind.  Demonstrable experience collecting, cleaning, analysing, and build models and reports using financial, operational, and human resource data to help Technology leaders demonstrate the value of Technology. To succeed in this role, you must understand the context in which the data is generated, evaluate the quality of the data, and identify relationships between datasets.
    • Stakeholder Management Skills. Ability to identify and interact with technical subject matter experts and technology managers on daily basis, building relationships to collect, map, validate and report data. 
    • Effective Communicator with a Proficiency in English. We are a diverse company. Ability to communicate on a business level with everyone is a must.  You must be able to collect business requirements, translate those business requirements into technical requirements, implement technical solutions, and translate those solutions into business language before communicating to stakeholders.
    • Problem Solver.  A proven ability to figure things out on your own – Every challenge may be unique.

Nice to have:
    • FinOps Practitioner.  Experience working within a FinOps team.
    • Other Technical Experience.  Working knowledge of API data transfers and python scripting.
